CC714 Vanilla Merlot Under the Shaded Spruce 11/20/2018
HelloColorLovers! It's Tuesday and time for another color challenge. #714 on the charts for us. Let's start with the fave from last week. Barbara was our hostess and she chose this beauty Four Squares by Precious Kitty aka Jan.
Barbara said: "The subtle color blocking behind the wintry tree is beautiful, especially with the silver stickles sprinkled here and there. I especially love the sentiment, though. An offer of love and support just at the moment it's needed."
Congrats Jan! The code to add the badge to your blog is attached below, and your card will be pinned on our Color Challenge Pinterest board. Check it out here.
Now onto this week's challenge. I have chosen some wonderful rich Christmas colors. Remember the challenge is to create a card with only the colors we give you plus, the neutrals.
Are you ready for some Vanilla Merlot Under a Shady Spruce?
Vanilla
Merry Merlot
Shaded Spruce
Dessert Option: Shimmer or Glitter
Here are some samples from our design team to give you some inspiration!
Please keep in mind, that while we list SU colors for the challenges, these are just color reference points. Use the closest colors you have. We want everytone to be able to play!!
Please put CC714 in your keywords section (and if you have more than one challenge, use a comma to separate them) so we can find your card.
Thank you so much for choosing me as your favorite, and giving me the badge!! I am floored, because there were so many great entries for that challenge. I am honored that you chose my card.
You have made my week!
God bless and I hope you are having a wonderful week!
Big Hugs; Jan L (Precious Kitty)

Used this week's colors (tweaked the merlot hue a bit) for my festive card. Colored my stamps with markers, and distressed the edges. Added a proper satin merlot like ribbon tie, and a white and green dotted ribbon border. Used festive paper for my background. Here's Santa's Sleigh

I am playing my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking, catching up on my SCS postings, and building my Christmas stash all rolled into one. This card was made in August for my 2021 Christmas cards stash.
I tweaked the color shades to use the colors I had. Merry Merlot is more of a Cherry Cobbler and Shaded Spruce is Gumball Green. My Dessert Shimmer is silver foil and rhinestones.
