Hello,
I think I would like to participate in this group - is there a minimum number of cards I need to send? And should I include a note or something in the box letting them know why I'm sending cards?

I usually put a note in telling them I'm sending them on behalf of SCS.

That's exactly what I do and I also put my screen name on the note along with my real name and address.
I also put my cards and envies (if requested) into a zip loc bag and then into the box or padded envelope and write their address in pen and not marker. Once my cards were sent where it was raining and the address got smeared because I addressed it with my Crayola Markers!!! Water Based...

Yes, putting the items in plastic bags is a great idea. Especially with all crazy weather that has been going on around the country. As winter approaches, you just never know of a package is going to be left outside in the damp cold either.

I made up a “form” sheet which I xerox each month, fill in, and enclose with each box of cards that I send. It has my name and address, my Splitcoast name, blank lines to fill in the address to which I’m mailing it, and a blank line for the number of cards in the box.
If there are many different kinds of cards for an organization, I sort and label each kind and put them in plastic bags or tie each bundle of cards with a ribbon. To protect my address on the box, I cover it with packing tape.
I appreciate the opportunity to give cards to those who would like them. I realize that I can do this for many years before running out of supplies.

Wow. I'm sure that all the organizations appreciate the extra steps you take to sort and label them.

Question... this organization requested no religious messages. Although it's not a "message", I usually stamp the back with the name of our group [Dove Notes, a ministry of Laurel Church]. Is it okay to do that?

to be on the safe side I would leave it off. I am always torn when it states no religious messages. I surely want to respect their wishes and do; but always say an extra prayer over those cards! open to anyone else's suggestions....

Apologies for being late on acknowledging my interest this month - yes - i'll be sending cards!!
We started the month focused on our first ever vacation with our grandchildren, and their parents - only to have it cut short so they could go home to Panama City and try to prep for Hurricane Michael. They survived, as did most of their home...
It's still pretty rough up there, and we're still constantly answering questions and sharing best advice of surviving hurricane devastation learned through having survived a couple ourselves...
This coming weekend we're going to see mom - not sure of what changes to expect now that she's under Hospice care - so this too will be stressful.
So my cards may go out a bit late - but go out they will!!!

I didn’t catch the information about the packing slip but I did enclose a small note. My cards meet all of the recommendations they have listed so they should be fine.
