TITLE: Cue the Music! Keyword: VSBN18OctA Day/Date: Friday, October 5, 2018
The song “Hooray for Hollywood” first appeared in the 1937 movie Hollywood Hotel and has since become the anthem representing the glamour and glitz that is Tinseltown, where an unknown can become an international sensation overnight! There are numerous versions, each with slightly different lyrics, so for this challenge, choose a version you like and get inspired by one of the lines. Have fun scrapping!
TITLE: What's In a Name? Keyword: VSBN18OctB Day/Date: Friday, October 5, 2018 Shakespeare may have come up with the line "What's in a name?" first, but it certainly is important to get the right name for your movie! After all, how many people would have gone to see Chariots of Fire if it was called, “The Story of Eric Liddell and Harold Abrahams,” or Titanic if it was named,“Run for the Lifeboats?” It’s important to get this right for our layout titles, too, so let’s borrow a little inspiration from Hollywood and use a movie title for your layout title.
TITLE: Celebrity Homes Tour Keyword: VSBN18OctC Day/Date: Friday, October 5, 2018
I must confess, it always fascinates me to see how and where Hollywood celebrities live, and I might even have one of those celebrity homes tours on my bucket list somewhere! For this challenge, lets pull out some home photos and start scrapping. You have two options:
1. Scrap an actual famous home that youve toured. It doesnt have to be in Hollywood or have anything to do with show business, but it must include some details!
2. Showcase a place in your home that you just love. For example, the room you remodeled to your exact specifications or the room thats the reason you bought your house. You could even feature the people who make your house a home (as long as they are in the house).
TITLE: Scandal Sheet Keyword: VSBN18OctD Day/Date: Saturday, October 6, 2018
Hedda Hopper was a notorious gossip columnist during the heydays of Hollywood, writing a weekly column named Hedda Hoppers Hollywood. For this journaling challenge, create a layout focusing on a little known fact about a person or event youre scrapbooking. Bonus points if you present it as a newspaper story, but be careful to keep it nice; even Hedda was sued for libel during her career!
For a blockbuster film, the cost of hiring actors can be in the millions (Harrison Ford was paid $10 million to reprise his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: The Force Awakens), but the biggest cost can often be for routine items, like props, sets, wardrobe, food for the crew, etc. Fortunately for all of us, it doesnt cost millions of dollars to print out photos and scrapbook them, so lets get the most bang for our buck by pulling out some items from our stash and using them on our next layout. For this layout challenge, include a product for each letter in the word CELEBS, but only use items already in your stash!
Created in 1923, the wooden Hollywood sign has gone through several restorations and was eventually replaced in 1978 by 45 foot high steel letters. Its original purpose was to advertise an exclusive real estate development called Hollywoodland, but it has gone on to become a world famous icon representing glamour and fame. We’re going to pay tribute to the sign in our next challenge in one of three ways:
A movie can have great actors and locations yet still be a flop if it has a mediocre script. For this challenge, lets focus on the script (journaling) of your lifes story by creating a journaling rich layout. Optional: record your journaling in script form as a conversation between at least two people.
TITLE: Sketch the Scene Keyword: VSBN18OctH Day/Date: Sunday, October 7, 2018
Before any actors are hired or locations chosen, a team of artists starts to develop the mood for the future film by creating storyboards depicting key scenes and characters. Let's start our own scrapbooking story by using this brand new sketch to scrap a memory that deserves to be featured!
