MISTI Monday September 2018 Card Challenge
Challenge Title: Stamp set holiday twist
Hostess: MISTI Monday
Keyword: MSP13
Date: September 4, 2018
Good day all! Sorry for the delay, but my apartment complex was out of power for an excruciatingly long time, especially during this seasonably high heat. The power came on this evening, a full 22 hours after it went out, so here I am! I hope you all had a wonderful Labor Day!
***The September challenge is all about holidays***
I recently challenged myself to make a Christmas Card using a floral set. A set that had no business being a Christmas set...laughing. It was so fun!
My challenge to you this month is to take a seemingly regular, all occasion stamp set and use it for a holiday you'd not think of just by looking at it. Use your imaginations and really try to pick something out of your typical realm.
I used a stamp set from The Stamp Market called Jumbo Bloom. A really nice floral set that I made some bridal shower cards from, as well as other typical non-holiday occasions.
Here is the stamp set and you will find my card below.
I used my MISTI by stamping my florals multiple times to achieve a very dark red color. Coupled with the darker green leaves, this spoke to me like a Christmas card, so that's what I turned it into. I also used my MISTI to line up the smaller sentiments and I embossed them with Brutus Monroe Alabaster Ink. The Christmas sentiment is a die cut. I think this may be one of my favorite cards I've made this year.
Try your own Christmas Card or any other holiday from a non-holiday style stamp set. Good luck!
Thanks for participating this month and get the word out about the challenge on the My Sweet Petunia forum. I'd like to see more participation this month! Last month's cards were awesome!
Have a great September and thank you!
MISTI Monday

I want to see you stamp after getting such deep color on this card!
This will be quite a challenge to me as we don't celebrate calendar holidays. I'll think for a bit and see if my brain can get a smidge of an idea to begin!
Happy Thursday.

Here's a very clean and simple holiday card that sparkles! The MISTI allowed me to get a very good, not smeared stamping for the embossing powder. The photo does not due it justice the silver embossing glitters in the light!
Here's CAS Christmas

Because of the precision of the MISTI, I was able to stamp my reds 3 times for a deep, dark color. It was sooooo velvety and crisp looking. It just begged to be a Christmas card. Since you don't celebrate calendar holidays, how about maybe a card for a wedding or retirement? Sympathy? Get well? I know it's kind of hard to find a "non occasion set for those, as you probably could use most sets for those....but it would seriously be a challenge...lol.

Okey Dokey! Here is my very first Misti Monday Challenge card:
Holiday Twist by contrapat - at Splitcoaststampers
I enjoyed thinking of ways to use a stamp set to represent a different holiday than it was designed for. (Took me a while to settle on what to do, though, lol!)

Here is the card I made for this challenge. It isn't a holiday card since I do not celebrate holidays but I thought the use of the stamp set and the verse fulfilled this challenge!

I colored a floral that isn't necessarily Christmas. I usually think of poinsettia flowers for Christmas. This can be any kind of holiday or used for anything. Love it is red.

Sis I took you up on your Challenge of making a get well/encouragement card. But your right probably many sets could be used. Since I used this set for my Christmas twist , I decided to go ahead and make one for the get well Challenge as well showing how versatile all stamps can be. Enjoy. And mahalo for always challenging our creativity and ole minds like mine lol Aloha heres mine..

You will enjoy the MISTI (choose the regular size)...I need to figure out how to use the corners I bought this summer...haven't figured them out well.
I'm sure I"m the only person who can double stamp a sentiment and have it not line up correctly the second time!
Use the MISTI almost with every card I make that includes a stamped image.
