Default MMTPT527 ~ August 28, 1018 ~ A Blast From The Past

WELCOME TO TEAPOT TUESDAY CHALLENGE MMTPT527

A Blast From The Past

Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a TEApotter the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot or from the challenge theme itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!

It's the last Tuesday of the month, so it's Tickle a Teapotter time once again, and this month our guest hostess is

Sandy, stampingwriter.
And in her own words, here is her challenge for us. This one is going to be super fun!!

The world of stamping was totally different when I started with the hobby about 20 years ago. No one had fancy dies or Copic markers, and our idea of a cutting-edge technique was tearing the edge of a piece of cardstock. Plenty of trends and craft supplies have come into fashion and gone out again in that time. Who remembers using mulberry paper, vellum, brads, snaps, ribbon buckles, paper clips, deckle-edged scissors, pinking shears (or any other decorative scissors)?
If youre like me, you still have at least one or two of those items in your craft room. My challenge to you is to dig out some supply you havent used in ages and incorporate it into your card. Tell us in your description what item you used.
If youre one of those people who keeps your craft supplies cleaned out and dont have any no-longer-fashionable supplies on hand (or you are just a fairly new stamper), use an old stamp or stamp set on your card.

CHALLENGE: Use old supplies, the older and more neglected, the better

EPEC (extra points for extra cookies): Simple, the more different blasts from the past you use, the more cookies you get

DESTINATION STATION:
This week our destination is each other! Once a month, we send our cards to each other!

Check out THIS NEW THREAD in the TEApot Tuesday Extras Forum. If you are participating in the card exchange please go to this thread and follow the instructions. Make sure to sign up by bedtime on Saturday 1st of September, as I will do the draw when I have time on Sunday 2nd.

Here is Sandy's card: MMTPT527 My Blast From the Past

Here is a quick link to the MMTPT527 gallery

Be sure to use KEYWORD MMTPT527 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!

Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Post your request HERE or send a PM to jacqueline.

Eyelets here too .

No internet this morning, so I couldn't get it uploaded till now.
As well as eyelets I used an old technique, fibers, a corner punch, a very old clear stamp set (slightly sticky but still stamped fine!), a Sakura pen and my Fiskars texture plates. All these are between 10 and 15 years old.

MMTPT527 Mostly Old by Cook22 - at Splitcoaststampers

Here's a shot showing the four panels.

Thanks for such a fun challenge, Sandy.

Can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. I used mulberry paper and a heart-shaped clip on my card. (I can't give an exact age on either, but both have been around a long time.)

Sandy, I was amazed at what I still have in my trove! Oddly, I am not a hoarder and have given away and thrown away a LOT over the years, but I still had some golden oldies. I have no idea, why, but it was fun using some things from 10+ years ago that were all the rage. We need to do this challenge again some time. I'll be back soon to post the link.

What a FUN challenge! Thanks for the idea, Sabrina! Not sure I'll have time to participate this week, but I will be using the idea as inspiration for a couple of cards I am needing to make in the near future!

Hugs,

Don't thank me - thank Sandy!
When we have a guest hostess for the Tickle I always include their avatar - so watch out for those . I know you see mine in the side-bar.

Fun to use older products again. Actually my (only) New Years resolution for the past two years! Here I used a VERY OLD patterned paper for my Teapot Tuesday card.

No one creates transparencies anymore, but the sheets are great for stamping and heat embossing; that's what I did for the image and sentiment on this card. I also used my very old Fiskars paper cutter to create ragged edges on the watercolor piece. I was inspired by a CJZim's contribution this week that used a similar technique. (If anyone knows where I can find the specialty blades for my paper cutter, please pass it along; I can only find standard blades at the craft stores.)

In my hurry yesterday I forgot to check in here!
Several of you posted about the mailing of my project. Thanks, Sabrina, it would probably be best to mail this inside the US. I am guessing it will probably cost about 3.00? I am going to put it in a bubble mailer hopeful that way it will get to the recipient in the condition it left here in!!! Super fun project! Thanks so much, Sandy!

Oh, and Sabrina, I loved that you posted the small panels of your waterfall card here. Such cute images!

WOOHOO!! I have my tickle card done way early this month.
You can see it here: A Blast From the Past by kathg3262 - at Splitcoaststampers

I have used lots of old stuff! The papers are the very first In Color set and I still have all of them. the stamps are not the very first I bought, but they would be close. I still have all my old markers, many of the older papers, the brayer, watercolor crayons, chalks, the catalogs and special catalogs, the wheels and wheel handles - both large and small!

What fun it was going through all that stuff.

Playing catch-up challenges even though too late to particpate in the exchange. This challenge was all about digging out and using old supplies, the older the better!

I pulled some four-year old patterned paper out and a five-year old Sizzix BigZ die: Autumn Accents. Even my button is about four-years old! The only thing, for sure, that isn't old is the gold foil paper.

Here is my card: Thank You for the Delightful Gift!
