I have had a great time hosting the Divine Design Bible Verse Challenge in 2010-2017. I have had requests to continue this for 2018, and I am more than happy to do so.
This is an opportunity for you to memorize ** Scripture each month. And to help you do so, you make any kind of paper project, with the Scripture as the focus, such as: Album pages, bookmarks, cards, calendar pages, and anything else that works for you.
I have been making a 6x6 Album for each year, with a month for each page. Then I have can keep going through them to refresh my memory on the Scriptures I have memorized, so as to keep them in my mind. I put each current month in a stand where I can see it often, then add it to my album each month.
There are a lot of great scripture stamps out there, but if you don't have any, don't let that stop you. You can print scriptures from your computer! This challenge is a great tool to help you with memorizing & meditating on God's Word. You can join anytime and I hope you will. The guidelines are simple:
1. Must have a Bible verse printed, stamped, hand-written or computer generated on your project.
2. Upload a picture of your project to the Gallery with the scripture reference as your project title (i.e. BVC18 - John 1:14)
3. Be sure to then post in this thread what Month you have uploaded and provide a link to your project in this thread. That way we can see what each other has done, and encourage one another with comments in the Gallery. You might even be inspired to use one of the Scriptures you see as a future choice for yourself.
4. Be sure to put BVC18 as a Keyword when you Upload. This is the Bible Verse Challenge keyword: BVC18 (same keyword all year). While I do appreciate all kinds of inspirational messages, poems and quotes, for the purpose of this challenge, please respect the scripture reference guideline. Do not use this keyword if you have not used a Biblical scripture on your project.
5. No vendor restrictions.
6. The goal will be to post one project for each month of 2018. Try to post it no later than the end of each month (but you can still post later than that, too).
I look forward to seeing all the great projects in the BVC18 gallery! Please feel free to PM me if you you have any questions!
I will post a link to the BVC18 Gallery once we have something in there..
I pray this blesses each of you, as it does me, each month.
Blessings,
LM
** The intent of the the challenge is to combine our love of scripture and our love of stamping. The goal is also to work on memorizing. I understand that not all are able to memorize, and I would never tell anyone that they cannot participate if they cannot get their posted verses memorized.
Thanks LM...Here is one card I made this month. I've been making so many cards for donation (about 600 a year) that I have fallen behind in sending cards personally. This year I want to send a scripture cared monthly.
Failed miserably with this challenge last year, but I am hoping to try again this year! I am working on a couple albums as gifts this Christmas ... so, hopefully this will keep me on track!
hello I am new here, i think this is a fabulous idea and hope to be able to join you in this challenge but have a couple of questions... do we follow a prompt? for example we are prompted to create a LO on psalm 23 ? or do we chose our own scripture to use in our work. also can I use die cut words too? I have dies which cut words like faith, love, hope etc can they be incorporated with the stamped or printed verse? are we creating scrapbook layouts rather than cards? sorry for all the questions
God bless you

My understanding (and I've only been participating for one year) is that there has to be scripture on the card or layout...it can include other choices of words but must have scripture to be posted in the gallery of BVC18.
I have not found an easy way to locate scripture from wordartwednesday.com but they have beautiful fonts of scripture that you print yourself.

Hi Teresa...Welcome, I am so glad you joined! As Faye said above, There has to be a Scripture Verse on Your Card, but you pick the Scripture, hopefully one you can memorize/meditate on during the month. Yes, you can add other words, die-cuts, embellishments. You can make any type of project that you want (such as Cards, Scrapbook Pages, 3-D Projects, etc.). HTH. :-) LM

Thanks Julie...I appreciate your enthusiasm for our Challenge and you beautiful contributions. I hope to finally be able to make cards again tomorrow. It has been a couple of very busy months for me! :-) LM
I made a card today and put my Bible verse, inside! If I remember I will photograph inside next time I do that. Would that count? LOL I already mailed it. I have to remember to make a card with the Bible verse on the outside!
Sharon, Yes that counts...Anything to get YOU posting monthly on this thread again! :-) I shouldn't talk, I am so behind. I just started stamping again today, after over a month of not stamping! I was so happy to be back stamping! :-) LM

Not much crafting now, as we are selling and downsizing. I have cleaned and packed some of my craft things so everything shows well. Requesting prayers during this time, for God's timing and direction. Thank you.
Most of the verses are from Psalms- still working on memorizing them all. I tend to struggle with remembering the reference more than the verse- anyone else have that issue?
Sharon, I just prayed for you- that your home will sell quickly and that He will give you the strength you need for your downsizing. I know it is a lot of work, sweet friend!
And to tell you that we sold our house in 2 weeks. ! We close in 30 days, so we have been busy finding something. We got what we wanted, praise the Lord! We had been told that we couldn’t get into one of these duplexes that we loved until May! We needed to be out of here before the 30th. I told DH call and check again. She had one come open early! So we can start moving in the 20th.
My verse:
"Now unto him that is able to do exceedingabundantlyabove all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be the glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end." Ephesians 3:20-21
This is my June card. I made this right after hearing a sermon on this scripture. Had an impact on me. Tucked under the scripture is Phil. 4:5 handwritten on a pull-out piece. Sent this to my pastor already!
Hi Everyone! This card uses 1 Thess 5:18 "In all things, give thanks"...this verse is another one of my favorites and sometimes a difficult one to follow...
