Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Anyone is welcome to play in the weekly Teapot Challenge - the more, the merrier! You automatically become a TEApotter the first time you play. Where will you find inspiration? Will it be from the teapot? The destination location? Something of the recipient? Or could it be from the challenge itself? Remember, your participation in Destination Station is 100% voluntary and not a requirement. Just have fun!
CHALLENGE:
All of us in this SCS community love crafting. Many of us love several crafts. For today's challenge, bring out your crafting goodies (a play on Craf-T-Bear's name) and add some extra goodies on your cards. You can add extra embellishments (stickers, ribbon, floss, gems, etc...) or add other fun goodies that were initially for one craft to embellish your cards (thread, buttons, acrylic paint, play doh, etc...). The sky's the limit - just let us know what fun goodies you added for your crafty cards.
DESTINATION STATION:
Some of you may be familiar with fellow Splitcoaststamper Craf-T-Bear (Christi ) from the You Matter Project. Christi is the founder and she has been collecting stamping and crafting supplies so abused women and children can make cards and crafts. She has been doing this for almost ten years. You can read more about Christs quest HERE.
SCSer wavejumper noticed recently that Christi abruptly closed her thread on the SCS Mission Organization forum and reached out to her. Christis response to wavejumper said that shes addressing some serious health issues and requested prayersI'd also humbly appreciate it if you and any other SCS member's would send up a prayer or two that the doctor's are able to figure out what's going on and can at least be guided in ways to treat whatever they find. It's a pretty scary situation for me and I don't have any family around anymore. (Well, except for my SCS family.) Were so happy to honor Christi with her own tea party - she has been so selfless in helping others express their creativity that its even more meaningful to give back to her. Lets send encouraging thoughts to Christi to let her know her SCS family is thinking of her and keeping her in our prayers.
Be sure to you use KEYWORD MMTPT520 in your upload and post a comment here so we can all see your card!
Do you know someone that could use some well wishes, encouragement or all around warm fuzzies? Consider nominating them as a guest of honor (a.k.a. destination station) for an upcoming tea party. Post your request HERE or send a PM to Jacqueline.
Here's mine - buttons, knitting yarn, die-cut flowers, sequins and oh my goodness, how long have I had that dragonfly? 15 years, at a guess...and my Sakura pens are still mostly as good as the day I got them.

I combined some other crafts I have been known to do in the days when I am not making cards--gelli prints, wire sculpture, and fiber crafts. Fun challenge but I had to stretch my brain!
Great idea for Christie, here is a bear hug for her from James. "Hang In There"

Hi
Cook22 Suggested I post a request here for one of our SCS members.
Christi has been collecting supplies for some time now from our purges for a support group she does. Recently she suddenly shut the thread down. It is easiest if I just post the rest:
As some of us saw-she suddenly shut down the thread where she was taking donations for the support group she runs with no explanation.
I reached out to her and got an answer-and then also got the ok to post it here, so here it is. I am also going to post her second answer for what will be obvious when you read it. I will send a card to the address listed below.
I dont know how to nominate someone for the tea party group.
I'm having some major issues with my back and neck. Herniated discs, some muscular and nerve damage that is making it hard for me to walk. I've had some health concerns for awhile, but this has gotten worse rather quickly. Loads of tests, MRI's, medications, etc. going on right now.
Given that I'm not sure exactly what's going on with my health or what changes I may have to make because of it, the request for the thread to be closed was made.
For now, I can still take some donations as I have a girl named Betty that has stepped up and offered to help me out for the time being. (I'm hoping that she will take over the local You Matter Project for me permanently.)
For those who still wish to donate to The You Matter Project, they can still use the same address for now...

I'd also humbly appreciate it if you and any other SCS member's would send up a prayer or two that the doctor's are able to figure out what's going on and can at least be guided in ways to treat whatever they find. It's a pretty scary situation for me and I don't have any family around anymore. (Well, except for my SCS family.)
Thanks for reaching out, I'm truly touched.
Crafty Huggles, Christi
Yes, of course you can post my response. I couldn't after the thread was closed. Also, if you know of any uplifting threads of prayers or cards, you are most welcome to post there as well. I could really use some cheering up of bright cards right now.
Yes, I have a local church group and a couple other groups like my gardening group and I'm a local community board member.
Hugs, Christi
As a gardener I would assume she loves flowers for a theme but I think she would be thrilled to get any card. While a member of groups, on a direct personal level she is on her own.
I know I have never been here before but Sabrina said it would be ok. The thread is here: https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/forums/mission-organization-f256/purging-de-stashing-t606793.html
Thanks WJ
Hello Ladies,
I have searched the threads to find this because I wanted to give a humble and heartfelt THANK YOU to all of you who have graciously sent cards my way over the past several weeks. They are all so beautiful and have really cheered me up.
It was a total suprise! At first, I thought that somehow the SCS BRAK committee had gotten my birthday wrong or something because my 50th birthday is coming up on August 8th of this year. But, low and behold, all of you wonderful creative ladies took the time to simply let me know that you care about little 'ol me. Words can't even begin to describe just how uplifting your cards and notes made me feel. I am still in awe of your generosity. Things like this is exactly the reason I began the "You Matter Project" years ago... to brighten folks days when things seem bleak and they have no family or local friends around to cheer them up.
So, from the bottom depths of my heart, THANK YOU! May God bless you all!
