Hello again after a very long time! Crazy life got in the way and I had to put aside most of my crafts for a long time. I�m finally getting around to reorganizing my craft room, will be purging 100 stamp sets (am still keeping around 80), and finding new storage solutions for various supplies.
I�m having a lot of trouble finding something for my Stampin� Up ink pads. Right now they are in those really nice acrylic (or lucite?) ink pad organizers with doors that hold a dozen ink pads, markers & reinkers and were popular around 10 years ago. Unfortunately, I need to find something more portable that takes up less space as I�m now sharing the room with my 16 year old daughter and her crafts and 3D printer. I saw on a blog someone used an Iris project box to store her inkpads (are we allowed to post links?), but they were not SU (they�re smaller.) I love the idea, but the SU ink pads won�t fit. Does anyone have any good ideas? We have 48 inks and would be nice to have them all in 1 box that will utilize the vertical space of the bookshelf, but be portable as my daughter will be starting a long term service project and having card parties to make cards for low income nursing homes, so we�ll need to take the inks with us.

I forgot to mention, I really like the idea of the clear cases. I’m finding that the best way for me to organize things is in clear cases, otherwise I get frustrated finding supplies and things never get put away, even if labeled. So strange how different people’s brains can work.

I�ve been poking around the forum a bit and noticed there are links posted, so I will post the link to the idea I saw. Sorry, I don�t know how to post to the actual picture, but it is about a third of the way down in the article. This is what I want to do, but I need a case that will fit SU ink. If I can get something that would fit all 48 ink pads, that would be awesome, but maybe it will be too heavy, so it wouldn�t be horrid to have 2 cases.
I don't have one to test the fit, but perhaps the 'double deep' Artbin super satchel? They sell them at JoAnn's. (and personally I like Artbin better than Iris) I don't know if it'll fit your bookshelf though. ArtBin Double Deep Box with Removable Dividers | JOANN
I do have an ArtBin double deep super satchel. I also like them way better than Iris. They're better quality and less expensive.
When laying flat, and standing the inkpads upright in it, there is a little over an inch extra space in the height. Eighteen pads will fit across the box and three rows fit with space left over. So 54 pads with room to spare.
When you stand the box up like the picture you linked, then all the pads would sit horizontally in your storage, as they did in the picture.
You would need to make sure to have a shelf that is 14-1/8" tall, since that is the width of the box. Height is 6-3/8". (both outside measurements)
Thanks! I have one ArtBin double deep, but it is one with removable dividers. The grooves for the dividers make the ink pads sit weird. Does your bin have those grooves? Maybe I just need to get a different one, or I’m doing something wrong.

Yes, mine is divided, and has the grooves. I think there's enough depth to put a sheet of cardboard, or of styrofoam beadboard or something similar on the bottom to cover the grooves. You could do that on the sides as well, if needed.

I use some artbin cases I have to store LOs to put away. I have a piece of paper pad backing on the bottom.
I have a couple of the porta ink, ink pad holders. Not sure if they will be to tall where you want to store them or not. Scrapbook.com is where you can purchase them. Check it out and the measurements should be on there as well. Hope this helps! Good luck!
Thanks so much for all of the ideas. We have decided that transporting ALL the inks with us is not the best idea, so I decided to keep the inks on a shelf and we’ll just take a few at a time.
