Hi all! I hope you all had a wonderful March and Easter holiday yesterday! I had a quiet day and I'm waiting patiently for warmer weather to eventually get here.
Thank you to all who entered March's challenge and let's get to April's!
This past month I've needed some get well cards and I didn't have any masculine cards in my stash. I grabbed the Fine Feathers stamp set, by Gina K. Designs, and began to create something quick and easy.
I first used my MISTI to create a background from multiple stamps, from the same stamp set, with a tone on tone technique. That is stamping with the same ink color as the paper color, which is my favorite Gina K. color - Sweet Corn. The MISTI allows me to move all the images around where I want them on the card, then I can pick all the stamps up with the lid and ink them all up together. If I need, I can re-stamp them in the same exact position. I was able to use my Creative Corners as well, because I wanted some of the feathers to go over the side of the paper.
I then used the same stamps to create my focal point on white paper, really popping the images out from the background. The focal point inks were the same Sweet Corn and Onyx black, matching the paper.
I embossed the sentiment in white on Gina's Black Onyx Base weight paper, using my MISTI to keep the words straight.
This is a simple design that can be used with any occasion you may need.
Here's the card:
I really like the faded feathers in the background, pulling together the feathers on the white cardstock with the coordinating color scheme.
****AND as a special surprise (!!!!) Gina K. is generously giving the winner of this month's challenge the Fine Feathers stamp set I used above!
I hope you'll join in this month and good luck! Thank you for coming back!

Still in keeping with the bird theme, here is my 4th card for this set! I decided to case Iliana's card.... I also pulled out my Novus supplies & cleaned up my Misti after I was all done! My Sweet Petunia offers those tools too, to help us keep our Misti in good working order! I remember hearing, "when you take care of your tools, they will last longer....." My beloved Misti gets the same love as my other tools in the house! ;)
It doesn't look like I will get time to play for this challenge. I'm using my MISTI on almost every card I make but my cards aren't fulfilling the requirements for this challenge.
Some day...just not today and that's really okay!

MissLindaN's card, Beautiful Leaves, is the winner for this month's challenge! Congratulations! All of the cards submitted were spectacular and I was so inspired by them. It's so neat to see everyone's take on a certain directive.
I hope you will all join me for the month of May! The challenge will be posted on the first Monday of the month, May 7th.
MissLindaN, I will be sending you a private message. Congratulations on winning not only the $50 from My Sweet Petunia, but also the stamp set from Gina K. Designs that I used on my card!
Good evening to you all!

Last night my husband was watching me use my MISTI, he was impressed! Having the MISTI has saved me lots of wasted paper being able to double stamp sentiments.

Just playing a little gallery entry and challenge catch up for the fun of it. Here is my card using a small snowflake stamp to create a background with the stamp, ink, and cardstock all in green: I Love Me a Christmas Tree!
