Hey friends!!! It's time for another challenge and I have a friend who needed a card for his wife for Anzac day. I had no idea what that was so he "mansplained" it to me. LOL SO, I thought that this would be a fabulous challenge for the week. Just as a note I copied this from the webz!
**If you don't have poppies, pop something up, use dimensionals, add glitter to make it POP etc... <3 The red poppy has become a symbol of war remembrance the world over. People in many countries wear the poppy to remember those who died in war or who still serve. In many countries, the poppy is worn around Armistice Day (11 November), but in New Zealand it is most commonly seen around Anzac Day, 25 April. Just to add to Kelli's description above, Anzac Day is our most meaningful and solemn day of the year. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps.
Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand that broadly commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders who served and died in all wars, conflicts and peacekeeping. We don't commemorate the day with cards, but we do wear poppies on the 25th of April and all towns conduct memorial services. It sure will be lovely seeing a gallery full of poppies.

We wear our poppies in November to remember all who have fought for our freedom. Poppy is such a wonderful symbol of rememberance.

When I first saw the challenge I was sad because my flower drawer has NO poppies in it . . .then I remember I just got the Unity Poppy girl and it was play time!!

Susie, thanks for your additional information about Anzac Day; I was wondering if Anzac was the name of a battlefield or something!
Veteran's groups hand out paper poppies to wear on Armistice Day here in America, as Kelli said. The poppies always bring to my mind the poem by John McCrae, "In Flanders Fields".
In Flanders fields, the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
the larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.
We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.
Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

For today's Anzac Day challenge, I went with a simple unadorned card with a soft water colored background for my poppy and companion sentiment. Here's Happy Poppy

Beautiful CAS gallery full of poppies!! I remember my first grade teacher bringing red paper poppies to school (and selling them for $.10) in November for Armistice Day, now Veteran's Day. Here is my card, Pink Poppies

Lovely challenge! Loved the info on Anzac Day. It sounds similar to our Memorial Day or Armistice Day in the US. Here is my Poppy Smile. Thanks so much for looking.
Thank you for this wonderful challenge today. I didn't have any poppy stamps for I created mine with punches. My card can viewed here Poppies With Sympathy.

Such a moving poem, and when we visited Flanders and read this poem standing on the fields where young men lost their lives you cannot help but cry.
Anzac Day....25th April was the day the Anzacs landed on the beaches in Gallipoli. We have lots of dawn services here and parades.
Thank you for sharing.

I'm playing my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking and getting a birthday card finished at the same time. Red poppies were required in honor of Australia's Anzac Rememberance Day, which honors their war heroes and veterans. Here is my card: A Little Happy Birthday to Sister-in-Law #3!
