CAS (Clean and Simple) Favorites for Week Ending SATURDAY 4/14/18
"Mother Nature apologizes for thelate arrival of Spring. Father Time got lost and refused to ask for directions."
Considering it is the 14th of April and baseball games are being SNOWED OUT, I'd say the old man still hasn't gotten his bearings. Time for Mother Nature to take the wheel...
As always, while the weather outside may be frightful, inside there is a lot of great CAS artwork being created that is sure to inspire. Here are some of the beauties that I uncovered this week.
Magnolia Beauty by kiagc Kia's lovely pink magnolia blooms are sure to have you thinking Spring and her design frames them beautifully.
EASY Faith Card Set by espbfdl LOVE the dove Savannah used for this set of colored base, CAS cards. Easy to reproduce, but that dove really dresses them up.
Hello Sweet Cheeks by housesbuiltofcards Heather's scene is so sweet and screams April showers. Love how she left the sky off under her umbrella - something that wouldn't have occurred to me, but that looks just perfect.
Thinking of You by bearpaw Lin's dry embossing looks fabulous with her die cut flowers but keeps the design classically CAS.
Welcome Baby by StampinWendy13 *** NEW-TO-ME-STAMPER *** I really liked the look Wendy achieved for her baby card by using lots of circle die cuts and big bold letters colored in non-traditional hues. Very striking results.
Easy Note Cards by Chris Slogar***NEW-TO-ME-STAMPER *** Sweet and simple little note cards - love the little touches Chris added, such as cross stitching.
Dragonfly Frame by beesmom Maura's wonderful alcohol ink background is all the color this CAS beauty needs. You really have to check outthe super cool die she used.
Climbing Roses by sistersandie Sandie's choice of a wood-look piece of DSP, incorporated into her flower based design really makes this card a stand out.
I hope you enjoy my CAS choices this week and invite you to join in the fun by sharing YOUR CAS FAVORITES with us all. If you have some favorites from this past week that aren't CAS, please share them over on this week's Favorites thread.
This thread is open to everyone and is a great way to recognize the work of SCS's many talented CAS artists.
There are really only two "rules" here on the thread:
The Gallery posts you link to should be in the CAS style...
-------------------------------- And what does it mean to be Clean and Simple?
It's all about the design.
* Uncluttered
* lots of white or open space
* one main focal point --------------------------------
...and they should be from the past week.
Did you find your way to this thread because someone listed one of YOUR creations as a favorite? In addition to saying thank you, we encourage you to pay that smile you're probably wearing right now forward by sharing a few of the cards/projects YOU favorite-ed this week.
If this is your first time being mentioned in this thread or you have a new blog we have blog badges found here in this post.
Need help linking your Favorites? Follow these steps:
1. Load this week's Favorites thread in your first browser tab. Scroll down and click the Go Advanced button.
2. Open a second tab (or a separate window). Go to the Gallery and click on "My Favorites."
3. Click on a card you have saved. At the top, highlight the web address. Hit Ctrl+C to copy.
4. Switch back to the first tab. Type the cardmaker's SCS name, add a couple of spaces and hit Ctrl+V to paste your link there. Hit Enter twice to add a blank line.
5. Repeat as many times as needed for all your links.
6. Click the Preview Post button and check that your links work. Then click the Submit Reply button.
I want to apologize for the way my notifications are posting to your pages. When I initially set it up it's all on one line. I always copy and paste it but it is posting on 3 lines instead of being straight.....weird as I keep fixing it and it won't stay like that.
Karen, the tech gremlins are playing with formatting today... I applaud your efforts and thank you for notifying me that Lisa (many thanks, Lisa!) chose my crimped thanks card as a CAS favorite. Jazzed!
