Hi everyone! Apologies for the challenge posting a week later than normal. I've recently moved and while everything was still in boxes, had a family medical emergency to attend to. HOWEVER, I am now all moved in and ready to roll! Because of my hectic days recently, this month's challenge is very quick, easy and hopefully fun for you!
This month I'd like you to find something in your every day life that you've looked at and said, "Wow! That would make a cute card!" It could be a design on a cereal box, a bumper sticker, an ad in the newspaper or the label on your favorite beverage. Anything that has struck you where you've thought, "I could really make a card like that!"
Since I just got my craft room finally unpacked this evening, I made a VERY quick card, but I've had the idea since I instantly laid eyes on this particular item I purchased for my brand new place. It was the first thing I gave a home, even before I put the key in the door for the first time.
I picked this door mat up when it spoke to me at Wal-Mart. I immediately thought what a cute card this would make! Simple, easy and cute. Here's is what I made this evening that perfectly sums up my life right now.
Let's see what you come up with. Look around your home, work, the grocery store, your favorite restaurant and get inspired by the simplest things. Post your inspiration item in this challenge thread and upload your card into the gallery. Have fun! I cannot wait to see what you come up with! Your card can be as simple or as elaborate as you'd like!
It's so nice to get into my new craft space. Although my first card I made in here took about 10 minutes, tops, it packs a big punch of sentimental meaning and a culmination of courage and adventure.

Yes, you need to post somewhere several times before you can post in the gallery...post here again...if you can't figure out where else to post!

Hi! Well, after a couple of hick-ups, I am finally able to post my card - since this is the first time I have ever entered a challenge (anywhere!!), I had to figure out how to do it first. ;)
I was trying to come up with a masculine birthday card idea for a friend when I came across this challenge, and thought it might be fun to try. I kept my eyes open for inspiration, and the next morning my husband wore a great sweater vest he owns, and I thought "that's it"!
I started by using the MISTI to stamp my greeting in Versamark, and then heat embossed. While that was the only use of the MISTI on this card (and then maybe not the best choice for a MISTI challenge?), I have to say that the MISTI has changed my card making life. Before MISTI, I was a frustrated stamper - could never get a sentiment straight or a good image on anything I stamped. But the MISTI changed all that, and from that point, I have loved making cards. I'm a happy stamper now!!
The rest of the card was accomplished easily with a square punch. Some of the squares are attached flat to the card base,other random ones are popped up. A photo of my inspiration is attached, and you can find my card here.<o:p>
