Arrow March Scrapping and Chatting - sbc18mar

Scrappin' Challenge 2018 Can you believe this is our 10th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2017 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2018! Let's keep scrappin'.

It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2018! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...

What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!

Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.

*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.

You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!

The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends.

Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2018 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!

We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc18mar"

I finished 11 layouts this month. Here's my stats:

March Goal: 10
YTD: 28

Hope to get back into the groove. I love having visitors, but they came right in the middle of my crafty mojo and I'm having a hard time getting it back.

YTD = 14
March Goal = 10
I've signed up for the Calvinball, hopping some of whatever that is will fit in with the challenges here and either way, hoping to get at least 10 done. Hopefully more.

Good Morning from a chilly, not windy, not snowy Canyon!

Feb Goal of 5 was turned into 7, which means
March's goal should be 8
and YDT is 14

one of the things I love about living at the Grand Canyon is the simple, everyday, ever changing beauties the envelopes us and gives STRENGTH to both the culture and lives that work and live here.

Last month, in spite of being so busy, I found time to reminisce about the Love of my Life that I have spent just a little over 34 years getting to know. So I would like to kick off this month with a tribute to my "Lucky Charm!"

Happy Friday everyone....Lynn I think I have your problem...I'm trying to find my head right now and resorted to meds....hoping the 2 will co-operate ;)

Babysitting poppets later....yay...but will need head by then...

Had to do a quick calculation on my YTD and goals and whilst doing this and after opening new window on pc, lost all of my post so had to start again....mmmm :(. Also had to recheck all figures as something doesn't add up, which isn't hard for me today

It seems I didn't get close to my goal for Feb but my excuse is that I had to RICE lots....cards seemed to over-achieve...how did that happen?

7/10 LO's completed in Feb and includes 2 very large tags ;)

YTD: My gallery shows 8 LOs completed YTD, but not sure when I did the 8th one.... but I will take all I can get

Cards seem to indicate I have done 24 YTD...how did that happen?

My goal for March:

According to my journal I have a total of 21 challenges that I need to catch up on, excluding today's. This isn't going to happen...I need to be realistic...so will keep most of them in my journal for another month.

Let's put me down Lela for 10 LO's again this month. I feel I need to achieve something this month ....hopefully I will do more as I will be doing a lot of pocket LO's and find them quicker to do ;)

YTD is definitely 8...just rechecked my gallery for the 5th time...I need to lie down...LOL

Happy Friday everyone and weekend.

Wow...Lela, I just saw your goal for March and your YTD...go girl. I'm impressed.;)

I realised yesterday that it was Autumn here...I wondered where Summer had gone as it's not been yet and the weather has been more like spring...which I prefer ;) In 9 weeks our 2nd son will be getting married...whoop, whoop, and I'm not organised...we are not organised.... Time to get my head on in coming weeks. ;) Thank goodness future DIL is organised ;)

Happy day everyone.

Thanks Jayne. I've just found a streak of MOJO as I've never done this many pages in a month before. I'm taking advantage of it for now, I'd love to finish up albums. They all seem to have some "missing" pages

Oh your son is getting married?! How fun, Momma of the Groom. My nephew is getting married in October in Texas and I'm so excited. First one of our "kids" to get married. My BFF daughter is getting married next Summer and those 2 have already worn me out with wedding planning, LOL!

Hi Lela, yes the middle boy....eldest married with the poppets and youngest missing and enjoying himself in Columbia...lol.

Our future DIL is also from the UK...he met her on a Contiki tour in the USA 5 years ago now I think. She lives here now but still waiting for her permanent residency...long slow process. She is a vet nurse. I've had some input into the wedding plans as her parents are still in the UK, but she is very independent and done most herself.

I didn't have input at all with the eldest boy's as my DILs family live here....they are also from the UK...what is it with that..lol.....and she is very close to her family. In both cases, we just turn up and pay towards the costs...lol. It is an exciting time and hoping the weather will be nice for them. None of my family are coming for the wedding as its too far, plus my niece is getting married in the UK at the same time....shame as we would have liked to have gone but just the way it panned out. I can't believe it's only 9 weeks and when we met them yesterday everything is just about ready...except us and our final outfits...lol. I still need shoes....yes I know I may be on track with Imelda, but I can't find ones to go with my dress. Just final touches now to be done. Whoohoo.

Wedding plans can be exhausting.....luckily with both boys we haven't found it too bad. I would imagine having a daughter would be different but not meant for us.....boys definitely make it easier on the parents...lol.

Happy day. Hugs to you and everyone

Met Feb goal plus one with 21 pages.
YTD is 38

March goal 20 again.

Hoping for a burst of energy so I can make use of a windy, dreary day here in Missouri. Having a lunch indulgence of pizza and soda, which will either give me that energy burst or send me for a nap! Ha!

I'm working all. the. hours. Then I fix food, clean up dishes and sleep. Then I get up, shower, dress, work all. the. hours. And repeat. :p

I'd like to: clean my house, wash clothes, scrap. But after working all. the. hours. all I want to do is sit and stare at the TV and doze off. Seriously. Whew. This energizer bunny's battery is running low.

I hadn’t been on for a couple reasons!
1. That Amazon pop up ad! I reported it, finally. I think it is fixed now!

2. We have stuff going on here. Big Decisions, and preparations! Next few months could be interesting. Should make good scrapping down the line. LOL

I didn’t reach my goal. And I will set low goal this month!
I did 3 in Feb.

YTD. 9 of 100

March goal 6

Happy Monday Everyone...

I have a question about March's New Scraplift Challange. Are we all scraplifting the same page or how do we choose our scraplift this month? I think I may have missed the challenge details somewhere.

I'm not the hostess, but my understanding is pick any layout from that gallery to scraplift. Browse the linked gallery and then pick something you like.

Happy Tuesday everyone...

Melissa...I hope you get some of those working...all...the...hours....back and find time to create. I know how busy you have been and am sending you some of my energy cells over your way, for what they are worth. My weekend has been crazy and messy...more on that below and in another thread..LOL.

Sharon....I missed the Amazon thing although I know some people seem to have seen it. I was just frustrated with the site asking me if I was a human all the time but that's now gone. On Sunday I posted my favourites...another long list ...I just find so many beautiful creations....and it took me 3 attempts to do the list manually....was nearly going to give up except I wanted the ladies to receive happy mail

I had fully intended to do craft last weekend...no such luck. Not sure where Saturday went and Melissa...I think I did a lot of sat...ing, but to be honest all I can remember is having brunch with 2nd son and fiancee to discuss wedding arrangements which was lovely. I think I spent most of the rest of the day RICEing and trying to find my head....silly sinusitis :(

Sunday.....hubby in charge of Sunday mixed golf and I decided to go with him to the club and sit and read my book for an hour whilst he did the presentation...bad move. Knee was not co-operating this day and I think I turned the wrong way on it....am now back to RICEing more and have the compression bandage back on. It's much better...phew but lesson learnt

Monday...long weekend and public holiday here for Labour day...also 36 degrees and summer has decided to come...late  Hubby adamant we finalise our trip and spent the day going through our Scottish itinerary and I started to book accommodation...didn't get far.

At dinnertime when hubby out on the deck firing up the BBQ, I excitedly rush out to tell him I had found us accommodation after a very long search in Skye. He asks me to close the door to keep the heat out...it shuts but we find ourselves locked out not knowing what happened. No keys, no mobiles and fortunately our gate onto the back lane was open otherwise one of us would have been climbing our fence . My friend and neighbour came to the rescue and after sitting out on our front porch for 2 hours, a locksmith arrived at 8.30pm ;) All I can say is it wasn't a bbq dinner we had  Today we have to get our faulty lock fixed...thankfully it wasn't my fault ...and get spare keys for the kids. We tried to think of our kids' mobile numbers...all we could remember were our own. 2 lessons learnt...spare keys, list of numbers...out of home.;)

At 9.15pm a florist arrives on our doorstep...yep, very late and even more surprising as it was a public holiday....with flowers for me with a cryptic message telling me "Because You Are Loved". Not sure what hubby thought  but I knew they could only be from family. Seems my sis was the cryptic messenger. A beautiful surprise, albeit we would normally be on our way to bed ;) Locked doors can sometimes make people change their habits

Today it's supposed to be 38 degrees...phew...melting already and indoors. This happened last year...a very late summer that went into what was supposed to be our winter. It is supposed to be autumn here now. Hubby has already walked the beach path and I'm thinking about seizing the day  Lots of paperwork, house chores to do and hopefully I can then think about challenges and craft ;)

Happy day whatever you are all planning....sending you hugs and sunshine from Oz

Oh ladies, quite the times!

I have been enjoying a visit from our friend who lives in Canada since Wed. afternoon. Today her husband flies in to take her away from us. It has been fun. We have crafted lots, but no scrapbook pages for me, just cards and Julie Nutting dolls.

Friend left this afternoon, time to scrap something! I put this layout together pretty quickly. I went in a read the list from the CalvinBall, first one and the week is almost over.

Happy Wednesday ladies...it is Wednesday isn't it LOL?

Yesterday...phew...long day....chores then booking accommodation and I never realised it would be so difficult but it is peak season and summer when we will be in the UK, and I should have realised. 6 more bookings to go and all done and then onto trains to book....gosh I really feel I have done this trip so many times...LOL. I am going to try and post a couple of photos each day as we travel as we are away a LONG time and we received a post yesterday saying something about only 160 days to go....what!!

In the meantime I have to finalise our wedding outfits, arrange guest room, declutter home (mmmm...not sure will achieve all of it), and craft and enjoy life. Until my knee is 100% unfortunately I still can't do a lot. Patience is not my thing

On another topic, we had our hottest overnight minimum at 26 degrees 2 nights ago ;).....it was hot and yesterday hotter...around 37 degrees during the day. Thank goodness for aircon. Today it is 32 and humid.

I have a list of things to do and still not managed to craft....I am itching LOTS to get inky and gluey (is that a word LOL)

Have fun whatever you plan to do today. Happy day

Talking Hello, hello

I've arrived today in Reno, Nevada .... I'm out West for a week.

I've been super busy since Friday so there has been little scrapping BUT lots of photos for new pages ... I packed Scrap Supplies so I'll be scrapping soon. Not tonight however, the "time zone switch" is getting me

Scrap On ...

Happy Thursday everyone and happy trip Lela...exciting for you to go to all different places and take photos for future scrapping. Enjoy

Today is cooler...around 31 degrees. It was the Opening Day of the Ladies Golf Season which I couldn't play in but hubby dropped me off at the club for a couple of hours so I could join lunch. Soon we will be off to see the kids and poppets for dinner...yay. So my today hasn't gone to plan at all and has been a social one and not a doing one

I received an email invite to a 3 day scrap retreat in June but unfortunately the timing isn't good for me. Another email invite to the craft show in May...now that I can go to but my conscience says no as I end up spending way too much on things I don't need....I still haven't used stash I bought from last year's show  Dilemma, as it's also a great day out with 2 "crafty" friends and we go for lunch afterwards in the city.....mmmmm....decisions ;)

Have fun everyone and happy creating

I am getting ready for another craft garage sale at a craft store about 25 miles from here. I participated in October and got a store credit for $130.00. Hoping to do that well again! Last time right after I got my credit, they had 25% offf everything! I got a new paper cutter, a TH Stamping platform, and several oxides inks and refills. I don’t remember what else. This time I would like to get more oxide inks. Don’t need paper! LOL. I have drawers and drawers, and plastic iris cases, and pads! In fact might sell some! I am selling my CM albums that I had bought and never used. I like the ones like at Michaels, that you just insert the pages when there done! You can scrap out of order, and it is easier to rearrange the pages!

Also, trying to decluttering , continuing taking loads to Goodwill. I have so much stuff! None of it is DH, all mine! Packing boxes of books for the church library, or for whoever wants them. We sit them outside the library and whoever wants them takes them! That’s are mostly devotional books, and ?Bible Study books, maybe some Christian fiction. You wouldn’t believe how many books I have! And now I read books mostly on my iPad!

Tomorrow our church encouragement committee are making sympathy, praying for you, and thinking of you cards to send ladies of the church. One lady and I made up at least 40 kits last Friday. We die cut Bible verses and sentiment of faith for the insides on white and then die cut a panel for under them. We perfold the bases, and I stamp about 40of praying for you or with sympathy sentiment for outsid and punch with oval punch for the outside. We include DSP pices if they want to put that on the base, or punch dragonfly or butterfly or even flowers. I take my punches for them. Most of the ladies are not crafty, but they have fun fellowship and it is a ministry! I haven’t figured it out yet, but weather we have 6 or 15 show up, we seem to make the same amount of cards! So that is why we make around forty. Also, a clipper will creat their own cards! But most of them want the kits.

So that is two things going one here. Maybe next week, I will know more to share! Hugs to you all! Anyway, not much crafting except for the church cards!

Happy Friday everyone.......another day that isn't going to plan. It's nearly lunchtime and I'm still in bed. We had another bad nights sleep waking up every hour as hubby's migraine has returned with a vengeance. :( I had a dental appointment and had to cancel that and now he's finally sleeping I'm catching up on news on my iPad trying not to wake him.....but I shall have to tiptoe out soon and seize what is left of the morning and day. I would like my hubby to wake up feeling 100% well and find out what is triggering these headaches. Hope it's not me ...nope I'm good except when I buy too many craft items...or shoes ;)

Sharon, wow you have been busy decluttering and what a lot of kits you have made for your church. You are a marvel. Enjoy your craft day.

This week has not gone how I envisaged, but I received good news today from my friend saying that her tumour was benign.....I am feeling so happy for her and her family. So I am thankful for all I have and reminding myself that I have time with me and that some people would like more. My hiccups this week were small things.

Have a wonderful day my scrapping and crafty friends....hugs and sunshine from Oz.

Happy Friday!!

Jayne - sorry to hear your husband is having bad migraines. I get the occasionally. In college, I got them all the time. Turns out - it was mold in my dorm room, so I had to move out. Hopefully, they will find out what is triggering them because I know how crippling they can be. :(

I am still in my scrapbooking rut, so I have my fingers crossed that the sketch challenge will be posted today.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend. Our theater is finally playing "The Greatest Showman" tomorrow, so I am dragging a grumbling family to that. Haha.

Well... the best laid plans often get derailed. Its all in the journey. Today is my first day off with no plans in about 3 weeks. I was looking forward to spending it in my craft room and getting some pages done! However, The bump in my Road happens to have 4 legs, a long tongue, and endless energy. We have another dog that has stopped by hoping to stay. My husband is the real life Dr Doolittle and strays are frequent wherever we go, but more so out in the country. For this current one we havent located the owners and are worried she was dumped. We are not far outside the city limits of Springfield, MO and they have a newer ordinance in place about Pit bulls making it harder for people to own them in the city. Which has increased the dumping of them on those in the county. Well, this new pup looks like she might be part pit, so that may be why we havent located the owner. Anyway, my MIL that recently passed was a HUGE dog lover and we are beginning to think she is playing tricks on us with this one. Not to bore you with all the details, but the last one is one of those things that makes you stop and wonder. My husband was out back letting the new pup run around when the local Humane Society finally returned his call about scheduling a time for him to bring her in for surrender. He gets off the phone and a HUGE tree falls in the woods about 100 yards in front of them. No wind. No reason. Just his Mom making a statement. Sooooo..... guess who is still here.

Talking Make that 3 ...

yup, Happy Friday but I'm with Jayne and Amy ... my Friday did not go as planned either. It was a long one. I did get in 8 miles of walking though ... the morning started WAY earlier than I expected. An Oven at the hotel I'm staying at caught fire and there was all sorts of ruckus about 0419 in the morning ... of course me, already struggling with the time zone change ... could not get back to sleep after that "excitement" ... :o

Let's just say it's been a long day ... yet, now here it is midnight and I'm "exhausted" but awake? oh crazy times.

I do plan to spend the day tomorrow SCRAPPING. Yes! Hope everyone's weekend includes some scrappy goodness, bring on Saturday

Happy Saturday everyone.....and nearly another gone and I still have food shopping to do

Good news...hubby's migraine has gone..yay. Elizabeth, we are keeping a note of when he has them and see if we can find out the triggers. As our home is new we don't suspect mould although hubby says he's read about this before. I'm a clean freak and no mould here LOL....

We did have a lot of dust in our bedroom when we recently pulled out the bed to clean behind it but that's now all gone. He used to get them frequently when he worked after looking at screens all day, and the day before he had spent quite a bit of time on the pc, so we are thinking maybe that...plus he needs reading glasses and is waiting for his eye checkup...which he won't accept he needs

I also walked around our park twice today and knee is feeling good...so much so that I sang the song in our bathroom this morning...."I feel good"...LOL

Shirley, I often have freaky things happen and particularly after my parents both passed away within a few months of one another. The stories I could tell and what happened when I was very sick, etc, etc....I take them all as signs and I think you are meant to keep this dog. ;)

I am seeing the end of our trip planning and bookings in sight....1 hotel and 2 trains to go....whoohoo. What a task it has been and I never found it to take up so much time when we did a long trip...maybe because I was younger

Time to go and seize whatever is left of the day and get to my inky fingers...which I had informed hubby I was definitely starting to do today...mmm.....!

Happy day everyone.

Wow Lela, lucky it was nearly morning...gosh glad you are ok.
Go you walking 8 miles. I can't wait until I can walk our beach path...about 7 km and also back to golf...about 9 km (I walk the course min twice/week)...I miss my walking.

Hope you have a good book to read...I've just started reading again after a drought and am back into it. I find it helps me to sleep, although I can't turn the lamp on during the night so I lie there thinking of all the things I need to do the next day, which then stops me getting back to sleep at all ....it's got worse as I've got older. I sometimes resort to putting notes on my iPhone ;) so I can get all the "noise" out of my head

I also plan to do some scrapping tomorrow...or at least start. I have my monthly craft group on Monday and have to prepare cards for that first. I am going to slowly work my way through some challenges starting with a LO from last month. I also have to print photos so I can get back to the pocket challenge which I found quicker....so much to scrap...not enough time

The good news is that our trip is just about finalised...only taken 4 days of my life this week but worth it as I can focus on other things now. I also have to think about a journal to take with me so I can scrap/keep notes...I used to keep a travel blog, then notes on my iPad...have tried a smashboopk....need to find something that isn't bulky and I can create as I go. Any ideas?

Back to my OLW...COMMIT....which I need to keep reminding myself...I am trying....hubby would say...you are Jaynie LOL...

Happy day and look forward to seeing your LO's...enjoy.

Hello Saturday! It was crazy moments Jayne ... today started much calmer. I actually made it down for oatmeal before it was all out and I'm just finishing a cup of coffee before heading outdoors for a few minutes. No sunshine today, it's cloudy and cooler (40s) but if I don't go now, once I get scrapping, I won't go later, LOL

Jayne, I'm so glad your hubby is feeling better and your knee is on the mend. I can understand why that would make you so happy ... it would me too! I do love to move, esp walk....

Hoping a Scrap/Stamp day for everyone
