Here we are, just a few hours from 2018. Unbelievable how fast time goes by! Time to start a new thread for the coming year. Once again, I ended up deeply in the red this past year. There are always new and exciting stamps and toys to buy and we are certainly a bunch of enablers here on SCS. I have also noticed that I spend more time on SCS and Pinterest than I do on creating cards and artwork. I find that at times I grow a little stale and have difficulty finding new challenges, so I hope I can get some volunteers to take on a few challenges ........maybe once a month?
REMEMBER: There are NO SET RULES. This is all about helping you be more aware of your spend -to-use ratio.
THE CONCEPT: Determine how much you want to PAY yourself for the following: (These are just examples. Brainstorm what works for you)
How much will you pay yourself for: 1 double pg LO a simple card A complex card 5 ATCs 1 Altered Item 1 Premium Item (think explosion cards or intricate items) 1 Challenge (there are a lot of great threads on this Forum) 1 VSN event 1 Meet-Up event 1 Updated Creative Blog Post 1 Gallery Upload (this is one DAY - not Item. You upload Mon - Fri. you get 5 credits.) Participating/ completing a swap or RAK
Some people also pay themselves for non-stamping items (things they need a little extra incentive for)
1) working out 2) losing a pound 3) eliminating a bad habit (credit per day) 4) for each book read
How will you keep track? Some people (like me) have used an account book. Others have designed Excel sheets to keep track on their computer. It's up to you whether you carry the totals over from last year or not. Every week, I and my team will be posting a challenge to get you inspired and get your creative juices flowing. Let's have a productive and fiscally smart 2018. __________________

Reason: Adding challenges
Well I ended up in the black again, but I lost track a few months ago. With all the cards I've made the past week I'm sure I would still be good, but I'll wipe out the numbers and start fresh. Only problem with that is my demo just put an order in for me so I could get two more packs of the year of cheer paper! And card class is Saturday so I will have another order. So I will end up in the red immediately!
I am here. I think I am going to try to figure my totals for the year and carry over, so I can spend if I want to! I have been pretty good the last few months, but will probably break down and spend soon! LOL Happy New Year, everyone!
Our challenge for this week is to look back at any challenges you did not get time to do in the S2S17 forum. There are several that I did not do, and I am working on one, but won't post it until morning. Happy New Year everyone. I'm not waiting for the clock to strike 12. Off to bed for me now.

Sharon, what an amazing total, plenty to spend for you this year!
I will zero mine as I’ve been away too much and forgot to upload cards I made before I left. Not sure how much time I will have this year either but I have made a start
Happy New Year to you all, going for our morning walk, not sure if we will even get a coffee as most places are closed, steve is cooking a ham for dinner today instead of the usually roast beef and Yorkshire pud.
Happy New Year! Was 0* when I got up at 8 this morning. I didn't stay up to ring in the new year but slept 2 hrs later than normal! LOL Now that's how you kick off the new year. LOL
Watched part of the parade from London. Now I'm on the Hallmark Channel watching the Rose Parade Countdown.

Great photo Jan. And there is no snow in the bg! Coldest New Years eve night in our history. It was -26 C degrees, which is -.15F. I have not been out yet. Cooking up a huge pot of my moms meatbll soup to take up to the ski chalet tomorrow. Also still plan to make a big batch of Brazilian cheese bread rolls. Our family loves them. My DD nixed my plan to also make a pavlova, so that saves me some work.
I look...disheveled ... lol.. I listened to the January videos for 1 little word ( OLW) then took a shower to try and get my head on straight... it is not working... I just have a ton of thought whizzing around my brain.
I have no idea how much to pay myself for pocket page scrapbooking? I read all my materials. I printed out everything I needed. I filled out what I was supposed to document. I spent a ton of time trying to remember how to use PSE. Spent more time trying to figure out how to recreate what I thought in my head... I know scary! My brain is gone and I barely walked any steps. Umm so at least 4 hours at the computer
Yep, Lynn, when we craft or on the computer, it is difficult to get our steps! My goals this year, I am not calling them resolutions, are
Physical health
To Get 10,000 steps a day
To drink more water
To go to the gym three times a week
To eat less!
Spiritual health
To be more faithful in daily Bible Study
To be more faithful in witnessing
To be more thankful to God
To live for the Lord intentionally
Craft goals
To use up stash
To spend less
To have fun
To purge out the junk in craft room
Time management
Spend less time online
Spend less time online
Spend less time online
Spend less time online
Sharon those are great goals! How are you going to track them? You know how much I love to steal... Umm borrow other people's great ideas
Tracking??? I have to track them? LOL
I have a notebook that has a diet/ exercise section. One place for calories, water drank, exercise. I had bought these last year at Michaels in the planner section, and never used them! So have started today! BTW, I got my 10k steps today. The hard part is most of it is tracked online, which I am suppose to do less. Hmm... I track my steps on Waling4Fun website. On the sidebar on my Blog there is a link to it. I am virtually currently walking the Appalachian trail.
My Bible devotion and Bible Study is online. It is an app, First5
And of course crafting is challenges and uploading on SCS, online!
So there is a little bit of contradiction with things I want to do versus too much time online!
I have to figure it all out.
Yup... Me too! Everything is online... My class is online... My journaling is on the computer... I still have my Fitbit online...I think I will end up being online more
Good morning everyone. I am keeping an eye on the weather ........it is snowing and blowing here and the area through which I will be driving usually is even worse than here. It's in the snow belt, we are not (go figure) I did manage to finish my card for this week's challenge. Here is the link. Vintage carriage by yellowrose46 - at Splitcoaststampers

Hi Sharon!
I think the "less time online" is more about being intentional and mindful of how you spend your time online - with less random, non-intentional browsing to kill time.

Thank you Ina for posting our new thread.
Certainly our time to plot what we can do in inspire our creativity in this new year.
Gotta say, Sharon, loved your last goal, or last 4 goals - lol! I had just been telling DD my plans about not spending as much time on the computer, which is to research and note the challenges in one file (except for the dailies) to have them handy so I can just head into the crafting room and get started.
Yep, Melissa, we need to strive for quality on line time.

I found you! Don't think I checked in on the 2017 thread for over a month. Yikes! How have you all been????
Did really well on the spending last year until I signed up for a Christmas secret santa swap. Then it was one for her, two for me. In the black until November. Starting with a clean slate for this year.
Very few goals for this year.
Complete swaps ON TIME.
MAIL cards, birthday and Christmas
Finish reading Wahls Protocol and implement as much as possible.
Go to the Y twice/week.
Use what I have.
Finish organizing/purging craft room.
