Welcome back to the MISTI Monday Challenge! For February, our theme will be Loving Layers! (Well, February IS the month of love....)
Your task is to make a project using any kind of layering you love. On my card below, I actually used a couple layering techniques. 1) Ink layering on multi-step stamps (using my MISTI, of course) and 2) Layering of die cuts.
Tell me what your favorite layering technique is and how you used your MISTI in your project. The project may be a card, scrapbook layout, mixed media, journaling, etc. The sky is the limit when we're doing what we love!
This months winner will again win a$50.00 gift certificate from My SweetPetunia. If you do not currently own a MISTI, describe in your entry how having the MISTI would benefit your card.
UPLOADING INSTRUCTIONS: 1. All MISTI Monday Challenge Entries must be uploaded to your member gallery, with the specific challenge keyword, no later than February 25th at 12:00 Noon Central Time to be eligible to win $50 gift certificate to My SweetPetunia.Post a link to your entry in this thread. The winner will be announced Monday, January 26th by Midnight EST. 2. You may combine this challenge with other challenges, and also have multiple entries. Please use a full description on either how you used your MISTI or, if you don't own a MISTI, how you would have loved to incorporate its help! 3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
Good luck to you all and thank you for joining our MISTI Monday challenges! I can't wait to see your projects!

Oh, I love that sample! Are those the new PTI birds? I made my card using PTI bird, but mine are humming birds! Thanks for another great challenge and awesome prize! I somehow lost my MISTI magnets moving, I'm sure they are stuck to something, I just haven't figured out what yet! But I'm still using my MISTI and I'm sure I'll find them as soon as I buy new!
I've had two shoulder surgeries in recent years, which limited my paper crafting. The MISTI and color layering really helped! So, I've accumulated quite a collection.

When I saw the inspiration challenge was an iris garden, I had to funt down my Kitchen Sink Iris set. I have only used it once and that was before I owned my MISTI. Wow, MISTI made this so much easier to accomplish. This tool nas helped me make better use of many stamps that I set aside out of frustration and have not been used so much. I was feeling I had wasted a lot of money on stamps that have only been used one or two times. So, thanks, MISTI, you have brought new life to my stamps. Here are the irises:

Wonderful challenge! I guess I didn't notice the challenges before. Here's my Stained Glass Easter. I have card stock layers but I also used my Misti to layer the stained glass. Couldn't have done it w/o my Misti. I stamped the stained glass first w/ desert sand ink, colored in the glass w/ Copics, then stamped over it again w/ gold ink & heat embossed w/ gold powder. I love how the Misti allows me to heat emboss & use Copics w/o ruining my markers!
Yes! They are the new birds from PTI! I think they are just soooo cute! So easy to stamp, too! I'm moving this weekend....I gotta make sure my magnets make it safely lol.

Yes you do!!! LOL
although I've been getting by with my corner magnets, I really need to just buy some. I'm hoping I can wait to pick them up at the March stamp event in Grapevine TX. I'm sure someone should have MISTI stuff there, I hope so anyway.

My card idea started with the Sketch Challenge SC920 challenge, and I included lots of layers to fit this challenge. In addition, I'm working on my "Challenge Catch-up" cardmaking goal as well.
My card utilizes four base layers, one of which is embossed, plus stamping and die-cut leaves and flower layers, some of which are popped up.
