Hi, & Welcome to this weeks Inspiration Challenge.
Do you have a bucket list? visiting this garden is on mine. It seems like every time we (hubs and I) are driving through that part of the state (it's about 5 hours from my house) we are there when they are not open, or the Iris is not blooming so, I think its one of those thing you have to watch and wait for on the calendar and just get on the road and go things. (maybe this year?) I have many varieties of Iris in my garden from the bitty less than 12" tall to the very large re-blooming double ruffled bearded ones. mostly in shades of purples and pinks with some "blue", yellow and whites. The color I really want to haul home someday is red. supposedly these guys have one. someday.
Here is a shortcut link to the "store" part of the site. In Addition to many Iris tubers they also have a selection of Day Lilies. Have fun with this, I am looking forward to see what sparks you all.
Use the keyword: IC637(no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words. Include your inspiration image in the description of your project being sure to only include links from Schreiner's Iris Gardens
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many, or too little, images to choose from, I've uploaded 7 of my favorite designs! So just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS.
How to Play ~ View the attached images. You may be inspired to recreate the pieces ~ but that isn't necessary ... get your inspiration from the colors, layout, style or 'theme'. Just enjoy wherever your inspired creative journey takes you. Remember, if you are inspired by the creation of another artist, please do not use print-outs of the art in your creation or directly copy their work. Make the inspiration piece your own. Don't worry ~ no card is 'wrong' and there is no time limit for uploading your card for the challenge. There are no rules, so let your creative juices run wild ~ be *inspired* and go get stamping!
Don't forget about No Upload Sunday - Let's give the gallery moderators a day off and not upload on Sunday (unless, of course, you are a Fan Club member - yet another reason to spend a little money on your favorite site). Also, remember to link to your SCS gallery post in this thread. Thanks for Joining along with us!
NEED HELP GETTING A LINK TO YOUR INSPIRATION PICTURE? Since so many are having trouble grabbing the link to just one picture, please try this:
If you are unable to grab the link of your chosen picture, (on some sites, you can't, it only gives a link to the whole collection), hover over the picture in the collection that you want to link to. On a windows machine, right click the picture (on a Mac, 2 finger click). When the options come up, select COPY IMAGE ADDRESS. This link will be for that picture.
Lovely site, Stacy! After searching & searching thru my images, I finally found an old iris stamp I haven't used in a long, long time. Here's my Thinking Iris. Thanks so much for looking.
What a lovely site Stacy! I hope I get to play along this afternoon. My dear grandmother had a beautiful iris garden each spring, so this site brought back wonderful memories for me!
Stacy, I can imagine these gardens are well beyond spectacular....their site is marvelous for inspiration...especially to those of us who like to paint flowers. Thank you.
I hadn't thought about Schreiner's in ages. I used to order from them every year, sometimes to add to my collection, sometimes to start over in a new location.
I free hand iris's in every media, even on a blown out egg.
I will try to get a card made but my "friend" vertigo is in charge today!
Stacy- love these irises! I went with the Iris Bloom Season photo and used a strip style technique for my floral background and my main bird and birdhouse image. Added a die cut sentiment, and embossed the whole thing.Farthest background is my latest quilt creation- florals and pinwheels
Here's happy pinwheels

We don't see many irises here in Florida. That's because we go directly from winter to summer. It was 86 here yesterday. I was fascinated by the blue iris. Blue Iris by casep - at Splitcoaststampers

I do not have any Iris stamp, so I am substituting my new SU SAB "Lots of Lavender" stamp set because it will be the perfect color for the inspiration iris that I chose: Roaring Jelly. Here is my card: A Floral Birthday Bouquet!
