Recently moved to NYC - miss my stamping tribe back in MA
I am new to NYC, and am despairing of finding people who love to stamp and scrapbook here. I found one great store - THE INK PAD - in the West Village and they have classes but I miss my stamping tribe. I'm new to the online crafting community but am looking forward to finding new friends and inspiration in the stamping and scrapbooking world. Now if I could only figure out how to store my supplies......
Thank you, Lydia. There doesn't seem to be anything around NYC at the moment but I will post when I am a bit more familiar with the group and site. It really is lonely without my stamping tribe.
we met a new/local stamper-she just posted on FB.
we went straight to her house.love new stamping friends.plus i hate to think of someone being left out.
post on out CNY/WNY threads here.maybe someone will know of someone near you.
if you are close check the stamp store in the city
The ink pad.maybe through classes you could meet new friends.
That's what I would call a lucky newcomer. We used to live in Syracuse and I'm sure I'd find many stampers there. I will keep trying, and reach out to the CNY/WNY groups to see if anyone knows anyone downstate. Great idea.
I've tried classes at Paper Source but they were so very basic that I didn't enjoy myself. I've actually been thinking of applying for a job there and seeing if I could teach. My cards aren't particularly sophisticated but compared to what I saw there I am quite the stamper.
Hey, I'm from the Bronx, and I work in Manhattan every day! I used to work at the Ink Pad. I'd love to get together and stamp. PM me, and we can try to work something out. Welcome!

I feel your pain! I moved to FL and finally settled down in a new home. I so miss my stamping friends! I hope you find a fun group soon!

I want to welcome CityGirlStamper to SCS and add that I'd love to get together with you and Scrapjanny (my BFF and the person directly responsible for my addiction to this hobby ... and I will forever be grateful!)

Yes, Gayla! I am not sure that date will work for me but I am hopeful.
Just wanted to add that Heidi, Gayla and the "Road Trip Ladies" are also lots of fun and very talented. It's been too long since I've been able to attend one of their gatherings. Perhaps March will work out!
Hi there! So glad you posted. I live in Queens and am in Manhattan every day for work, so Id be happy to get together too. Ill PM you and Tina.
Hey, Leah, where in Manhattan do you work? PM me. Maybe we can meet for lunch some day. I work near the Micheal's on 22nd St. and 6th Ave. Have you ever been there?
Has Heidi posted about the March meetup? I was looking for it in the get together forum. I'm hoping to be able to come this year!

Heidi will be hosting a shoebox swap on Saturday, March 17, 2018 in Poughkeepsie (Dutchess County), NY. The thread for this year's event is not yet posted. It will appear in the Get it Together forum (linked below):
Remember, swap details will vary but it gives a better idea of what the event is like, as well as the fellow SCSers that might be there. There is a group (most located in Central NYS) that organize and travel to many shoebox swaps (SBS). Gayle (snowcountry311) is one of them. You will be able to find those threads in the Get it Together forum.

Sorry. Didn't realize that Paper Source was that basic. I've never taken a class myself, but a friend of mine took a class there. She's definitely a beginner : )

If you all have a get together, I'd love to come. I'm super busy for work these days, but if things ever slow down I'd love to have you all over for a crafty session.

Hi all!
I'm so late to the game!! Late night surfing on my phone and I saw this thread! I'm here in the Bronx as well! I'm a SAHM with two little ones, but if you guys ever do a weekend meet up in the boroughs I'd love to tag along!
