It's a new year with a fresh book. A good way to start is to document the RIGHT NOW. While things may seem to be the same year after year, it only seems that way because we see the same thing every day. We don't see the change until one day, out of the blue, wham! The change is there, it's just gradual. Sometime looking at a series of photos of the same thing over time documents the gradual change that comes with the passing of time. How about beginning your book by documenting RIGHT NOW?
The challenge consists of three prompts.
odometer + price of gas
selfie + this is me
CURRENTLY (routine, watching on TV, reading, favorite, where you work - something "ordinary" that you think never changes)
Document your first week or two (or create a page or two) and come back, share with us in the gallery. Post a link to your project in this thread so we will be sure to see it! Copy and paste the keywords above when posting your project to the gallery.

Oh wow, I LOVE this my friend!! I will try! I've been trying to figure out what to do for PL...I'm weary of the app. I'm going to try Chatbooks for my main PL pages, but this is a wonderful way to incorporate some fun scrapbooking and documenting in! Lord knows I have a million pocket pages to be filling up!

Love them and thinking I may use them for all the masses of photos I never know what to do with but want to keep and also so I can get some quick albums done. I just set up a new Instagram account for my 2018 family life photos and have it synced to Chatbooks. I'll get a book every 60 pages. That's my Project Life style this year. I fell behind with the PL app last year and it's frustrating to catch up b/c of lack of storage on my iPad. I'm done thru June is all, so for catching up, I'm going to use Chatbooks for the rest of they are and put January thru June into a Blurb book. That's the plan anyway!
I've just started using Pocket Pages in my scrapping to add some variety and speed up the process for when I have lots of photos or want a "quicker" page ... well that's what I thought when I started :rolleyes:
I also realized by adding these in, I technically have to do a "2nd" page as I need to scrap the event before/after in a pocket format as well so that's taken some planning as I've had to figure out the process but so far, so good.
Thanks to this challenge, I did pull out all of my Pocket Cards and put them all together in a container so it's easier to find them. I ordered a Variety Pack of Page Protectors so that will help too to change it up some as we do these challenges.
Didn't do "pocket page" style, but using your prompts I've created a page for your challenge. Since the photo I've gone over the pen with a marker, so the writing shows better. A Day - January 3 by AnniePanda - at Splitcoaststampers

DISCLAIMER...I am not a scrapbooker but I enjoy making cards. I enjoy trying to implement one little word into my life for a few years now. I will try to make a card occasionally with my word as a focus.
My word for this year is a repeat from last year because I did not implement it hardly at all into my life. I'll try again. Failure doesn't have to be a bad thing, it is how I got to where I am and now I'm choosing to move towards success.
NURTURE as a noun means the process of caring for and encouraging the growth or development of someone or something.
Here is a card I made in 2016 that reflects where my word began to take form for my life.
Thank you Melissa for jump starting my year! I will kind of copy Joyce Ann. The thing is this doesn’t help me get scrapped what I already have; had to take photos for it. But good in a way that I document how a day goes on our lives.. have to figure it out, but thanks to Joyce Ann, I have a direction.
Melissa , how is it going? I miss our Flylady cruise! That was fun! You helped me finish last year!
I've just been watching more of Ali Edwards' videos to give me inspiration. Decided that Melissa is related to Ali....or maybe she is Ali Edwards LOL. You just remind me so much of her Melissa...that's a compliment.
One thing I have started to do is to try and take more interesting photos so some good has come out of watching all those videos, and I hope to share some of those with you.
Just about to post some cards I made, and then time to work out how to print smaller photos on our Canon 7760 for my pockets....watch this space. Happy Sunday everyone

YAY - happy both you and Joyce Ann were able to create pages with the prompts.
If anyone must get "stuck" on the challenges, post questions - we'll all brainstorm ways to get "unstuck". That's the great thing about this - we don't have to do it alone!
Cruisin' the Holidays was fun. There is another cruise in April/May/June - it's an EW (Eight Week) Toss Like Ya Moo'vin Challenge. It's been a few years, but I have been considering hosting again. I'll update my signature if / when "tickets" are available. :mrgreen:

Melissa, I have my photos of petrol prices, the odometer...and finally a selfie. I don't usually do selfies as they always make me look as though my face is squashed and old LOL, but I finally managed one that I'm happy to share in my pocket pages. Hubby says I'm too precious LOL, but I don't like to put up photos of myself for privacy reasons, but I figured SCS is ok...it is isn't it?

I haven't had time to do anymore looking into My Image Garden.
You can put a circle over your face or a card over the photo to cover up your selfie or not post the project at all, if you don't want to post your photo online. I would love to see your layout. Of course, I'd love to see you, too. Whatever you choose, do whatever works for you and that will be totally fine!

Hi everyone.....still no pocket pages done today. Hubby wanted to do other things plus I wasted so much time trying to print photos I'd taken yesterday of the odometer and petroleum prices. Still don't have them printed as no matter what I do I can't get them to pint the actual size on a 4 X 6. I've done something when cropping them and no idea what. Very frustrating and have left for another day when I can get my head around it all. I printed a sample and still managed to print on the wrong side of the photo paper....! Such a waste of ink. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.

Hey gang! First off, I apologize if you see this same post across multiple threads. I'm on a time budget but wanted to let y'all know I haven't fallen off the wagon again.
Just a quick note. I've had some health issues the past week or so while getting the office finished. I have company all this week and Bob is coming home after being gone the past 5 weeks. I won't be around for the next 10 days or so but then I hope to get caught up!

Well it seems as though I started my pocket page LO for this month weeks ago and still it's not completed. :rolleyes:
How can something so simple (or maybe not so simple) take so long and why is there always one pocket that you just can't make your mind up about LOL :p
I've had the LO sitting on my table, moved upstairs amongst the chaos in my craft room yesterday, and now back on the dining room table staring at me. I seem to do a lot of pushing photos and journalling cards and embellishments around....LOL. ;)
I've even enlisted hubby today for his opinion, and just when I thought I had nailed it, he comments on a phrase that I had on one of the pockets saying that it makes me sound sad or depressed. Doh! Well that did it, off it came.... and he just didn't get it LOL :rolleyes:
So now I'm about to head back to it and wrap this one pocket page up once and for all as I am running out of time and January will be soon February :rolleyes:.

I totally understand! Because, I, too, have faced the same scenarios. Still do. But I have discovered and developed techniques to help me overcome. Upcoming challenges will focus on some of these.
Don't let that stop you from completing your page. It's similar to when you encounter a new to you technique in cardmaking - we usually share our stuff anyway. And it's usually not as bad as we think. It's a little different with a pocket page, but adopt that same concept and you will see your growth over time. Much like you see your growth, over time, in creating traditional scrapbook pages.

Well here is my first Pocket Page for this year....you would think I've never done them before but gosh I found this challenging at times. I've now got my head together about how I proceed with future pages so hopefully it won't take me as long ;)
I found the journalling the hardest as I like to write lots and on a small space it was hard, plus my OCD side likes neatest and my handwriting isn't the best :p, but I've decided that I have to let go and just do it. I also like things a little different so you may see some funny doodles and lettering in future pages...watch this space :razz:
At least you ladies now get a chance to see what I look like :rolleyes::cool:....enjoy and TFL

It's a big day here in WA as the first sporting event is on at our new 60,000 seat stadium. I now wish we had bought tickets, but hubby's happy that he can watch the 1 day cricket match on the box ;)
Melissa, hubby says our petrol price equates to about US$3.80/gallon. Our prices are per litre and on the day we filled up it was cheap as it has been as high as $1.45/litre. On average it's between $1.30-$1.40/litre.
