Lisa here as your hostess for this weeks WTUI challenge.
One way I like to add texture to my cards it to add some distressing to the edges. Some times I will do it on one layer, sometimes on many. It is great for adding to many types of cards. Today's fun challenge is to add some distressing on your cards.
If you have never done this have a fun tutorial called Distressed Edge.
There are also other fun ways to add distressing so feel free to use any fun way you like for distressing. Have fun.
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
We have a fantastic cards this week from the very creative team. Please see Carla's, Sabrina's and Cathy's outstanding cards.
Great challenge, Lisa. I did make another card using what I consider as a distress technique, but now I am not sure whether you mean we can use any type of distress technique or only distressed edges? Let me know, and I'll take it out of the gallery if it's not appropriate.
Lisa- love this challenge! Got out my trusty pocket size sprocket style roughing tool, and highlighted the edges with white craft ink for the snowy look. I have 5 layers on this card, thanks to my stamping friends! Here's Snowy Scene

I am playing catch on challenges I missed while AWOL with my knee surgery and slowly getting back to full swing! Three months later, I think I'm finally back.
I sponged my card heavily with ink distressing throughout all my layers: mats, sentiment die-cut layers, banners, flowers (both paper and cork), and the doily. I like ink-sponged distressing, because for me, it softens the stark lines and gives the card an aged look. Here is my card: Belated Birthday Wishes - Sister-in-Law #2!
