I just noticed that same thing. I was reading the Falliday Fest Prize Drawing thread and the ads appeared. Interesting that they were from companies from which I just ordered online -- Toys R Us and Amazon.

Hi Lois, I sure hope that is just a coincidence, otherwise my DH has been using my iPad to shop for a petite Asian mail order bride, a Rolex watch and incontinence panties, oh and a printer!

Oh Susie, that's hilarious! My ads aren't nearly as interesting!
Well, Kathy, I was going to ask if you're logged in when it happens, since I know that's where they appear when you're logged out, but since it happened to me as I CAME INTO THIS THREAD, I guess it's not that! It appeared between your first and second posts here. And it's not a misplaced top banner ad, because I had that, too. And now between post 6 and 7.

That's basically how the internet works these days. The ad companies can tell where you've been and can target their ads accordingly. I think using chrome incognito mode can prevent that, but I generally prefer the targeted ads to random weird things!
Yes, I currently have a " bowflex " ad between posts - wait, it changed to a National Skating Championships ad, in between posts 11 and 12 in this thread. I saw one in the current event forum also. I guess they are every where! Tiresome!
6 ads on this page of 16 post so far: 3 between posts, 1 above where I'm typing, 1 long one on the left as usual (that sometimes has well-known rip-off companies*) and 1 on the top. Totally understandable SCS has to make money but six in a shortish thread is un-fun.
*Websites can generally ask for a company/its to be blocked even if the ads are part of a package. Well, the website itself doesn't ask since it doesn't have a mouth. The website people can.)
Thank you, Lydia. It's really awful. It completely detracts from the conversational feel of the threads and makes my computer lag, trying to load all the ads.
Truly, I'd rather pay more for my annual membership than see ads within threads.

It took me over a day to realize this was happening. When I was seeing the ad I thought it was the end of the page. Not sure how long exactly it took me to catch on to the fact that there were more posts below the ad. lol
