WT662 ~ Blast Off into Space ~ {11/16/17}

It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week.

To mark the fact that the space shuttle Columbia completed its first operational flight on this day in 1982, we are heading into outer space in our rockets or UFOs. OR simply create a beautiful deep space scene.


There are plenty of galaxy background tutorials out there on YouTube, and we have a super one from Francine HERE in our Tutorials section, which I used for my card.


Another super technique for planetary backgrounds is the Heated Pearls tutorial. I've never even seen glossy black cardstock here, I use either white or regular black and it seems to work fine.

And Toni used the recent Drunken Acrylic Reveal to great effect on her sample.

Oh!!! Thanks, for linking Francine's tutorial for us! When I created a galaxy scene recently I looked under "galaxy" and couldn't find a technique to post my card to but I sure thought I remembered a tutorial. You are awesome. I love this technique so much. It only took me a couple of years to jump in! LOL I hope to play along today. I have some cards scheduled for future posts but it would be fun to make another today for your challenge!

I've really been wanting to try this technique which I've been seeing in the gallery, but was searching in the tutorials here under "galaxy" and not finding anything. I'm delighted that you've linked the tutorial by Francine! I have to clean my craft room and prep for a class I'm teaching tomorrow, but I'm really going to try and find some time to try this out today! Great challenge : )

Oops - I was so taken aback by the weird antics of Chrome this morning that I forgot to link my own card . I was really looking forward to being able to do everything on a laptop this morning, and it just wasn't going to happen because every time I tried to open a tab, another one shut down.
