I just did my first Project Life pages, and I am in love! I've had the stuff for a while; just haven't been able to do it. But I love I can fit so many pics on a page. I was able to get 9 cut-to-fit photos on a page, and was also able to use stickers, die-cuts and digis...Anyone else do Project Life pages? Any tips? What are your favorites to use with them?
I mix PL pages with regular 12x12 pages all the time, especially for events and holidays that I have way too many photos. My tip would be to mix up the type of PL pages by using variety packs. That way you have some with 9 small photos and journaling spaces and some have a four large and a few small spaces. Make it more interesting to scrap, too.

I've been doing monthly Project Life layouts since August of 2012. It's a great way for me to scrapbook the photos and events that I don't want to scrapbook on a larger scale.
At the beginning of this year, I was about 13 years behind on scrapbooking. My daughter is 14 now. I've had the PL stuff for a while, but never got anything accomplished until now. I made it my goal this year to try to get as much caught up as I could. Organizing my digital photos was key to that. I have 2 years complete and 3 other years in the works. For catching up, what is working best for me, is to use the printed pictures and work by month. I get the pictures organized into the PL pages (lots of different configurations). Once I get a year of just photos into the pages, then I go back and add PL cards and embellish/journal to finish the year. And I'm doing mine by month, it just makes more sense to me.
Thank you for the great input and suggestions! Brenda, sounds like you've made a good plan! I have to do mine by occasion; that's how I divided up my pics, and I think that'll work best for me. I need to commit to doing a layout a week etc.., but can't really be strict about it, as I am sick too often.
I'm not a PL scrapper but I just discovered Pocket Pages and I love the variety its adding to my traditional books. I have made my own "cards" when I don't have some that go with my Picts, LOL!
I joined a 31 Day Challenge for Pocket Pages and although 90% of them are PL scrappers they've been very nice about me playing along. That's helped! I've not looked in the gallery here to see if we have Pocket Page ideas?

Hi Lela! Would you mind to link us up to your 31 Day Challenge for Pocket Pages?

Hi y'all!
I'm a traditional scrapper + pocket page scrapper + card maker. I "do" December Daily, Week in the Life and Day in the Life - concepts created by Ali Edwards. I scrap from kits - mostly Studio Calico. I do have a great stash of SU! products as well.
Pocket page scrapping is fun - sometimes I struggle with Project Life, as that "canvas" (all of it - topics, colors, theme, etc) vary widely. It's a challenge to make a week of variety cohesive on two 12 x 12 pages. It's a work in progress. I get some fun day to day life stories told on these pages - things I wouldn't necessarily want to scrap / tell on a 12 x 12 canvas. I do scrap (again) those great / awesome photos or collage them to tell a story on a 12 x 12.
I love December Daily. My pages here are more elaborate or simple as I desire them to be for the day. The canvas is smaller also - 6 x 8. One photo, one filler, one journaling card - are the basics.
When I can take that concept and apply it to a Style A 12 x 12 pocket page protector and it works well. I have a cohesive week of mini stories.
It's all doable - it's just finding a way of thinking / approach that works for us as individuals. Always a work in progress. Looking forward to sharing more ideas!

Speaking of challenges ... what if we did a monthly "Pocket" Scrapping Challenge here on SCS? I've really enjoyed the one I'm playing along with however, I'm new to the process so I'm just loving the ideas they have :o
I found the challenge on Instagram at #31Challenges 2017. On Facebook it's "31 Challenges-Pocket Your Year".

This is a great idea! I'd be willing to host the monthly challenge. Just let me know.
I'm going to check out the challenge you mentioned.

Didn't see a challenge for this, so just thought I'd share my page here. It's no where near perfect, but if I try to make it perfect, I'll never finish anything! One of the problems I have is that I don't like my handwriting, but I guess that is pretty common. I just don't have the time or energy to type and print everything out, so this will have to do. I may have to use my lined stamp to help me keep my handwriting straight...

I like this! It looks good! And your handwriting looks fine! Really. Embrace it. I promise your kids / family will love having things in YOUR handwriting. It's what makes it unique. Thanks for sharing!

You can also try different things. I got into One Little word with Ali Edwards this year. I am documenting my life from a different point of view. There was a binder and pages and kit I could buy all in one place. After 6 months I am now expanding to adding other projects kits.
Enjoy..play with what is out there... Or a December kit.. or travel journal kit
