CLOSED & CREATING!
You’re invited to join our 3rd NEPA Stamp & Swap, a day of stamping, friendship & fun! We have a lot planned so please read everything & if you have any questions, PLEASE ASK! This forum will be our main way of communicating including the final numbers and other information for the event. It’s a good idea to check-in here even after the event is closed.
The theme for our event is “Let It Snow”…of course the holiday season is on everyone’s mind now..isn’t it? It’s not mandatory but you can include the theme in your shoebox project or any of the swaps. We will be having a contest so you put on your thinking caps & enter your project(s). Attendees will be voting for their favorite project!
COST – $25.00 per person. Registration must be paid no later than 5 pm on Saturday, October 14. This will allow 4 weeks to prepare!
***The registration form is attached at the end of this post***
Mail your registration form and payment to Lou Ann McGuire (address is on the form). There are NO REFUNDS, but you may offer your spot to someone else. Your registration is complete when your payment is received. If you have any questions, please ask! You may wonder "what does $25 get me?" It gets the venue, bottled water, paper products, and a small gift bag, plus a fun day with some really great people, a chance to use new ideas, products and enjoy our hobby. All funds collected will be spent on the event.
So here’s the plan:
MANDATORY SHOE BOX (TABLE) PROJECT – Bring your idea and all the supplies (precut but not pre-stamped) needed for 19 people to make your project the day of the event. QUALITY PRODUCTS ARE MANDATORY. There are several threads that discuss the quality of swaps. Please read them if you are unsure. ALL the shoebox projects will be set out in the morning. YOU will move, YOUR PROJECT will not. GOOD DIRECTIONS WILL NEED TO BE POSTED BY YOUR SHOEBOX unless it’s obvious what to do. You will not demo or be around for everyone to ask questions. Remember to include your name & SCS name on your directions. When our final count is in, you will know how many kits to make. You will need to bring TWO completed shoebox projects (which includes 1 hostess thank you and one for your table so that everyone can follow it for directions). This project will generally be a full card, with layers and embellishment(s) or a simple 3D item. Please provide any special adhesive that's needed. Make these something you’d be thrilled to get yourself. When you know what your shoebox project is, please post a name for it here or send me a PM. We will all have a checklist the day of the event. Projects should take NO MORE THAN 5-10 minutes to complete. If you are unsure, time someone else doing your project. You should also bring extra parts to fix any "oopies".
******************************************** PLEASE MAKE UP 19 KITS!!! PLUS 2 COMPLETED!
******************************************** SWAPS – You must participate in ONE swap. You’ll know how many to make when we post the final counts. The deadline will allow 4 weeks to prepare for the event:
• ATC Swap – Final Count =12– Info in Post #4.
• 6X6 Recipe Swap - Final Count = 8 – Info in Post #5.
• Christmas Card Swap – Final Count =18- Info in Post #6.
• 3D Ornament Swap – Final Count = 8 - Info in Post #7.
• Gift Tag – Final Count = 11 - Info in Post #8.
CONTEST – We want to see if you "Let It Snow"! We will have an area set up to enter your shoebox project, your swap(s) or any other project you've made but it needs to have a “Snow” theme. I suggest making an additional item since votes will be cast through lunch. The winner will be announced prior to the end of the event. Can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with!!
FOOD – There is a refrigerator but no oven. Please indicate on the registration form the specific food item you will bring to share. Ideas: breakfast items, lunch items, including salads, desserts and snacks. We love to try your homemade food specialties! Bottled water will be provided; please bring your own soda, etc.
DOOR PRIZES - Our goal is to have something for everyone. Donations for door prizes are welcome.
GIFT SWAP - This is not mandatory but if you would like to participate bring a gift related to our stamping passion. Everyone who brings a gift to swap will also leave with one. Value on these should be in the $5-10 range, and stamped projects are always appreciated! If it’s something you’d like to take home, it’s probably perfect! Be sure to include your name somewhere inside so the lucky winner knows who to thank. Wrap it up prettily so it’ll be a surprise until we’re done swapping. REMEMBER: Stamping-related!!!
EMBOSSING AREA – We will have areas set up with a heat tool & Big Shots for embossing/cutting so no need to bring your own. You will need to bring the embossing powders for your project with a tray/paper plate, etc. or embossing folders/dies for your project.
NAMETAGS – Since we all want to make new friends, please bring a name tag & include your SCS name if you have one. Stamped handmade name tags are beautiful & fun to see how creative we can get but we will have generic name tags available too. Or you can bring that cutie you received if you attended last year!
OTHER – Please bring your own labeled items for your personal stamping needs, including LOTS of your favorite adhesive. These are the items you just can’t stamp without, like: bone folder, paper cutter/scorer, scissors, straight edge, stamp cleaner! Don't forget your camera!
Complete the registration form and forward with your $25 payment by OCTOBER 14th.
Hi everyone! It's hard to believe it's just a little over 2 months until the event! The registration form is attached so put on your thinking caps!! Feel free to share with your stamping friends.
I am bummed that I have to miss this event this year! I love stamping with you ladies and shopping at the Craft Shack but I will be in Levittown, PA for a sword seminar and also to support one of our red belts testing for his 1st degree black belt!

Sorry but I can't hit the like button on your post :( because we'll miss you! But have a good time & hope you do well at the competition! ;)
On Nov. 11 I will be happy to collect any A2 sized Thank You and Thinking of You-NO glitter!!!-cards, card fronts, and ATCs to use when friends at my local VFW host a cardmaking day on November 18. A few of us card makers will make cards and the Auxiliary ladies will write notes inside thanking the troops for their service. These will be sent to Operation Quiet Comfort who send care packages...with a card inside...to overseas injured military members. No envelopes are needed.
I know that I don't even have to ask so I will volunteer Brian to smoke some pork for us and I'll make my homemade BBQ sauce to go with it. Anyone coming a distance want to bring rolls since that would be easy to transport?

And I'm always in the market for any extra birthday cards folks might have hanging around. My church has a birthday card ministry that I supply the cards for. THANKS!
Sure, I think if you send it as Friend & Family there's no cost. I haven't done it in a long time but I think you just need my email, [email protected].
