Falliday Fest Shopping List

We all love an excuse to go shopping, right?

Of course you don't need to buy anything to partcipate, but we like to give you a heads up on some things you might want to shop your stash or your favorite store for!


This is substantially complete, but check back before the start of the challenge for any late additions

• Copic reinkers, or alcohol inks
• White acrylic paint
• Yarn
• Colored acrylic paint
• Versamark
• Fine grit sandpaper or sanding block
• Glitter
• Gesso
• Glossy cardstock, Yupo or other slick surface
• Mister/spritzer bottle
• Battery tealight or fairy lights (optional)
• Glue gun
• Fun foam
• Mini embroidery hoop (check here for 3" ones - Walmart has 4" ones)
• Canning jar lid (2 pieces, any size)
• Canvas fabric (4" square); burlap, fabric or felt (5"-6" square)
• Shaving foam

Kind of like DTGD only anyone can play, not just fan club members. They post several challenges a day for two weeks, I think. I believe there are 30 total. I also believe about ten of those are projects and the rest cards. The projects get uploaded into the holiday blitz gallery and the cards into the falliday fest gallery. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct!

What's yupo?

Good morning. Yupo is a type of paper that works well with alcohol inks. They spread well on the paper.

Yupo is cool with alcohol inks. I learned about it from Kemernow (Kandie). It feels like smooth vinyl. Michaels sells it now.

For the canvas, all that's needed is a 4" square.

I did not find 3" hoops at my Hobby Lobby.

You can't win no matter what you do They invented this as an eco-friendly option. It's not plastic. Check out their site.

I just returned from a trip to our Bi-Mart, a northwest-based, employee-owned box store. I found the embroidery hoop and battery operated candles there. Feeling righteous, having purchased the stuff locally.


Of course, both items were manufactured in China, and the candles are non-biodegradeable plastic. Can't win, indeed.

I am confused is the Canvas & burlap (4-5" squares together or separate pieces? Are saying 4- 5 inches squares of burlap? What size Canvas and how many Canvas do we need? Want to buying the right stuffed

For one project you will need a square of canvas fabric, not more than 4" x 4".

One project uses a piece of burlap about 5" square but really any other fabric can be used, even felt.

I have had a busy busy September and October is proving to be the same way. I am going to try to do some of the challenges, but I know I won't be able to do them all and be a Yeti :(:(:( First time I won't be able to do this................... :(

May favorite part is the tutorials (bet you'd never have guessed! LOL). I'm not sure if I will be a yeti but I'm so excited to try. My mojo left while planning a wedding and helping other son through major dental work, so I'm hoping it will find me this month!

I was just thinking that maybe this was canvas fabric and not an actual canvas! Yay for your post!
