Here's the general schedule for the event:
October 8th - October 21st
During this period, there will be daily challenges. There will be different numbers of challenges on different days, with 30 challenges in total. Challenges will be posted no later than 9 AM Central time each day - but they will not happen at exactly the same moment each day - as readying the galleries and the posts takes time and each day is different.
October 22nd - October 31st at ONE MINUTE BEFORE MIDNIGHT - 11:59 pm
This period of time will have two components - a week for you to catch up with challenges you missed. During this period we will ALSO reveal the special additional requirement to qualify for YETI status. Have you seen our little Yeti on the graphics? He's our little mascot and we love him. So instead of challenge QUEENS, we will have challenge YETIS for this event. Challenge Yetis will have completed all 30 challenges, loaded them into the proper gallery with the proper keyword AND completed the second, secret component we will reveal during this period. Challenge yetis get the opportunity to win some of our higher value prizes, drawn at the end.
November 1- November 6th
During this week, we will close the gallery to all entries, and our tech team will run reports that we use to draw prizes. In order for you to be eligible for prizes, you MUST have your cards in the challenge gallery and have the keywords correct - otherwise your cards will not show up on this report, and your name will not be in the drawings. This will make yeti cry. The deadline for posting to the yeti thread during this period is November 5th at noon central.
November 7th until finished!
This is when the prize drawings will take place (if the reports are finished). To make prize drawings more fun than just random.org, I have participants answer trivia questions. I use the time stamps on their answers to generate my random numbers for the drawings. These are fun questions that are designed to teach you about using the website, and also about statistics from the event. The prize drawing thread is really fun and a great place to get to know your fellow players and learn about your sponsors.
The rest of the year
You will experience withdrawal from this fun month of challenges. We are sorry.
Another awesome mojo starter! DTGD was a-ma-zing and I am looking forward to this. Hopefully, the weather turns much cooler so I can comfortably hole up in my craft area with unlimited hot green tea to keep me going!

I've not done this before so I'm pretty excited to give it a shot...I cleaned out all my autumn stuff to play with. I am going to be in Vegas from the 11-16th so I may have some catch up to do when I get back, but I'm attending a crop on the 21st, so all is good

Craft room is too clean thanks to having a friend over yesterday to celebrate WCMD (blast!). It's time to put it back to normal (less clean ��). Think I'll try these challenges. (Nervous just means I care, right?)
My DH is throwing his hands up in the air, saying "I KNEW you were going to do this! I just KNEW it!"
He's not even mad, even though I broke the end leaf off the dining room table. At least, fixing it gave him something to do today instead of just watching football, lol.

Sorry, I am a newbie. Is the prize drawing thread just for yetis? I guess I am not sure where or when or who gets notified of the trivia for a chance at a prize. Thanks for pointing me the right direction!
There are prize drawings for all who did at least one of the challenges and had it uploaded to the gallery by October 31. The yetis are the only one with a chance at the larger items. So if you have at least one challenge done and uploaded by that deadline, you will be in the drawing for some prizes! The prize thread isn't open yet. Anyone can chat and answer trivia questions when it opens. You just won't have a chance at the prizes if you haven't done any of the challenges by October 31.

And you do not have to be present to win...the questions are informative, somehow, someway, which is understood by "understandblue" winners are chosen and posted usually by a card from the person's gallery...
When you win you will know because all of a sudden you will get multiple comments on the specific card that Lydia chose.
Its fun to chat on the thread also once it opens.
