It's Thursday and time for another Ways to Use It Challenge. Carla here, as this week's hostess and it's time for DIY Decorations. Translation, I want you to create your own embellishments. Don't buy it DIY it!!! There are so many ways to make your own, die cut some flowers, buttons or banners, punch out some acetate dots, color them with alcohol markers and create faux sequins, tie your own bows. I played with nail polish and got some pretty enamel dots. If you need a little inspiration, here's a link to myPinterest Board Cards - Embellishments. And, I searched Splitcoast Tutorials and found some very creative ideas, I've listed a few of my favorites below. SCS Dimensional Banners SCS TLC582 Paper Casting SCS Paperclip Bookmark SCS Rolled Flowers
I'm always on the lookout for new embellishment techniques, and can't wait to see what you come up with! When you've finished your creation, upload your card with the keywordWT655 and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card. It's especially appreciated by the hostesses!!
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE. Here's a link to the WT655gallery. Spread a little love around and leave comments for your fellow crafters!
Below are some marvelous samples from Cathy, Lisa and Sabrina. Thank you ladies for sharing your creativity!
Ya Hoo! My most favorite type of challenge- re-purposing and DIY! I used a chicken pot pie box for my pennant, along with yarn scraps I got from my DD for Christmas from our local yarn store. My pieced background of washi tape is because I received my new washi tape holder from Stamp n Storage yesterday which I choose with my prize certificate and ripped off the uneven edges from some of the washi tapes. Added a vellum sentiment from my stash-here's Happy Pennant

Carla, this was such a FUN challenge! I happily spent the entire morning punching, diecutting, gluing and digging in supplies - the phrase "happy as a bird with a French fry!", would be an apt description of the time spent! Thanks for the inspiring challenge!
