Default bent mylar stencil

i have a mylar stencil that unfortunately got bent! i have tried microwaving it, leaving it out in the sun, putting heavy object on it, and googling "bent mylar"....to no avail.

is there a trick to this? or do i just use spray on removable adhesive to use it again? or toss it?

thanks in advance for any tips

I'm wondering if ironing it may help? You'd have to protect it with a handtowel or such, and gradually work up to a higher temperature, but as it's damaged anyway, I'm guessing you can't make it any worse. If that doesn't work, then I think you will have to resort to the adhesive in order to use it.

If you have a die-cutting machine, you could try running it through that.

I've had some success with bending in the opposite direction. But it depends on the type of bending. Is it a fold as tight as your card would be folded? Or is it only curled?

If it is folded, and if you try to fold it in the opposite direction, then you need to be sure to fold backwards on exactly the same line. Go slow and be accurate.

Once you get it mostly flat by bending in the opposite direction, you could try putting it between two sheets of paper, warming with a hair dryer, and putting books on top to flatten.

The hair dryer idea sounds EXCELLENT by Diane! AND remember too, that when you heat it, you can then add cool air from some driers to set your curl..... it might work on your stencil! ;)

How about a hot laminator? I would put it in the "carrier" folder & start with the lowest heat setting & work your way up on the heat.
