Across the hall from my crafting space is a 3/4 bath/laundry room combo.....I rinse my absorber out and/or wash it in the washer, hang it on a hanger to dry and then put it on a shelf with some towels. It's close by and I always know where it is when I need it.
I keep mine in a sealed container, like Tupperware. I have one for cleaning stamps off and one for cleaning the stuff off my craft mat. I add a little water to each container so the cloth remains wet. I haven't had any issue with smell.
I just keep mine in a large ziploc bag. I cut mine up into several squares, so I can take one out and use it. I usually forget to put it back when I'm done, so it's dry when I come back to it. I just put it back in the bag and take a new one out. I keep a bottle of water in my room just for keeping the contents of the ziploc wet.
I just hang mine on the front of one of the wire baskets on my pegboard and let it dry between uses. Like most others, I've cut it into smaller pieces, so the rest is still in the original tube.
I cut a piece to fit a travel size baby wipe container that I saved. The rest of it I keep in the original tube shaped container. I also have a travel size spray bottle so I can wet when I'm going to use it. It does dry out since the container is not airtight and old, that baby is in his 20's now. Once I'm done I rinse it out and put it back in the wipe container until I need it again.
Minimal desk space and it's ready to grab and go if I'm crafting elsewhere.
How does the Lawn Fawn Shammy compare to the Absorber? I bought a LF shammy after disdaining it forever as just another gadget I didn't need. But one day while I was pulling lint off a detailed clear stamp it occurred to me that maybe I did need a shammy.
I am really happy with it! But I see others are using the Absorber. Is it the same material? Which size did you buy? It's definitely a cheaper alternative. (Now that I can't live without a shammy. How things do change. ;)!)

I have never used a Lawn Fawn shammy. I bought the Absorber after reading how well it works from Splitcoast stamper posts. I shared it with my two stampin sisters and a piece for my husband for his shop. It works great with no lint residue. LF shammy is probably prettier!
Oh, it's was very pretty until I used it. How pretty can anything be, covered in black ink? Now it looks like a dirty green rag. But still works.
I guess I'll order an Absorber. How big was yours and how big were the pieces you cut it into?
I just let my shammy dry out at the end of the day. But I have a sink in the room next to my craft studio, so. Down here I can't imagine it wouldn't start to smell if I tried to keep it wet overnight, given how much moisture is in the air.

I bought it from Amazon for around $10.00 and the size is 27 x 17 inches and I cut my 4 smaller pieces 8 1/2 by 9 inches and gave the rest to my husband. I do leave it wet in tupperware and wash it occasionally by hand. I find it interesting I can store it without it becoming funky smelling and I do check it often!
I got my absorber at Walmart for around $9. It was huge. I cut it into 8 squares and shared some with friends. I keep mine in a plastic bag, but some days I have it out so much and forget to put it away and it dries up. So then I just take it back to the bathroom sink and wet it and rinse it out and start using it again. Mine was pretty lavendar color but they also had pink and yellow.
Robin, they are exactly the same. Only the name was changed to protect the innocent. No, wait; that's not right. Only the name was ADDED to make it more expensive.
If you cut the Absorber into approximately the same size as the LF ones, you'll get 6 Absorbers for just a couple more bucks than one of the LF ones.
