Top uploaded stamp sets (SU only)
I got to wondering which stamp sets have been most loved (i.e., uploaded to the SU gallery). So, I went through each of the alpha galleries and pulled out the top 2. I listed them below in case other inquiring minds want to know. Granted, this is only true as of when I looked this morning and several are close, but interesting to see how many of those sets I own (13) and how often I use them to make cards. My next challenge is to use the least used set of mine to craft with today. Without further ado, here are the sets.
#18 (3450 uploads) = Fifth Avenue Floral (from 2009)
17 (3650) = Very Punny (2007)
16 (3877) = Upsy Daisy (2008 )
15 (3888 ) = Sincere Salutations (2005)
14 (3893) = Doodle This (2007)
13 (3937) = Unfrogettable (2006)
12 (4148 ) = Best Blossoms (2006)
11 (4182) = Simply Said (2006)
10 (4456) = Delight in Life (2007)
9 (4477) = Polka Dots & Paisley (2007)
8 (4608 ) = Embrace Life (2008 )
7 (4725) = Wild About You (2006)
6 (4837) = Petal Prints (2004)
5 (5430) = Loads of Love/Accessories (2004)
4 (5453) = In Full Bloom (2004)
3 (7184) = Heartfelt Thanks (2005)
2 (7197) = Baroque Motifs (2007)
1 (10471) = Lovely as a Tree (2001)

Well that's neat to see! Thanks for sharing it. Not really surprised to see LAAT in the number one position. It's been around so long but it's one of those that people squawk at the mere thought of it being retired.

Interesting, thank you! That's a lot for Upsy Daisy as being a set with only one image stamp compared to the others with many more in a set. I wonder (don't take this seriously) what proportion it is of the daisy image vs the sentiments.

Very interesting - and some of them are kind of surprising to me, to be honest! Thanks for sharing that (I never would have thought of it, myself)...

I'm not surprised at number 1! I was just wondering the other day if that was the oldest current stamp SU has.

I have a recommendation: Go into the gallery and search on each of these. It is FASCINATING about the variation of designs with the same stamps. At first you think no, this cant be right...but it is! i am also catching a lot of stuff I missed the first time like Cook22's amazing seasonal samplers!
I have no idea if it is possible but it would cool if we could do this once a year for the top 10 stamps sets by any/all companies.

I have every single one of those sets. I'm guessing that if you list the least popular ones, I would have every single one of those also! It has taken me a while to realize that I really don't need every set, even if the sample card is cute! I keep what I buy, though, and already some of the older sets are coming back around with a tiny tweak to make them "new" again. I'm not referring to the lovely vintage style returning, but the "fad" type. My old sets with paisley in them are as good as the new ones and I think that bandanas for a western theme will always require a paisley.

I saw something similar that was done a long time ago. I have been thinking what it would look like now. Thanks.

So interesting.......however, I am kinda surprised at Unfrogettable. I personally don't care for it but I was surprised to see it among all the lovely florals!!
Thanks for the FUN read this morning!

I used to joke that I would stop being a demo when SU retired Lovely As A Tree. Well, it outlasted me - LOL! I'm very glad. It's definitely my all time favorite SU set. Pretty and versatile and well suited to so many different techniques.

Interesting how most are from 2004-2009. I had all of those sets at one time.

I'm betting it has to do with more people posting on blogs, Pinterest and Facebook??

That makes sense, Brenda. Lots of people who used to post here, don't anymore. Less people to do the posting now.

It's true. I put my cards on my Pinterest board, I found it more time consuming to upload here than there.. and I got out of the habit.

Also, I think Stampin Up puts out more stamp sets for sale now than before.

I own 10 of the 18 sets listed. Used to own one other, but gave it away because I didn't use it! Have one more on that list that will be on the way to a new home as well unless I really have some ideas soon. I purge often and if I haven't used it, it goes. I haven't bought many SU stamps lately as I used to either due to the fact I already have something similar, finding stuff I like better from other companies, and that the best ones are not offered in rubber, which I use exclusively.

I have ALL these stamp sets and I'm not at all surprised that none of them are new ones because with blogs, Pinterest, etc, not many still post their creations here, which is sad. I don't post mine often because most of my cards are CASE'd from others and I don't want people to get upset. Would LOVE to know the most popular sets in the past 8 years! I'd bet Painted Harvest will be one of them, even though it's only been available for 6 weeks! :-)

Painted Harvest is a nice set with lots of options, but it doesn't come in rubber---a deal breaker for me.
