BEFORE we get started, lets name Mary's favorite from last week: She chose this Penguin Beach Chair from Crissy aka #1artist4highhopes.
Mary said: "I just love this little beach loving penguin. And, with his red, white and blue, he is ready for a fun beach holiday. The coloring is fantastic, the wood-look distressed paper and the tilted panel is perfect for a beach card.
Congrats Crissy! Your card will be featured on our color challenge Pinterest Board. See that here.
This week, I would like to make a disclaimer concerning these colors. It is not a good idea to wait until the last bell to pick your colors and then out of desperation to look down at your new Lularoe leggings that you have on and say, "Yes, these 3 colors ROCK together on my leggings, so let me just choose them as my colors!! A real challenge - and since there's no green, let me say dessert is NO FLOWERS....." Again may I state clearly, this is NOT a GOOD IDEA. I have had more than frozen lips over this choice, I had some NIGHT TERRORS as well. In the end, I highlighted two of the colors and downplayed the other, and I like my card, but it was a JOURNEY, folks. So - after that disclaimer I will reveal my interesting color choices:
ELEGANTWATERMELONSKYS
ELEGANT EGGPLANT WATERMELON WONDER SOFT SKY
AND FOR DESSERT, NO FLOWERS. Now if I could do NO FLOWERS, so can YOU!! SORRY FOLKS - IT'S A CHALLENGE AND WE DON'T CALL IT A CHALLENGE FOR NO REASON!! HAVE FUN EVERYONE!!
Please keep in mind, that while we list SU colors for the challenges, these are just color reference points. Use the closest colors you have. We want everyone to be able to play!!!
Please put CC641 in your keywords section (and if you have more than one challenge, use a comma to separate them) so we can find your card
Love this week's color challenge! Combined it with Monday's summertime challenge- adding a sponged and then partially erased background- along with orange scalloped vertical borders I added freehand. Used my pennant punch for my trio of pennants, attached with a coral yarn "line"- and decorated with enamel dots. Here's missing you

Karen I may not have a chance to play this week (crazy busy at work) but let me say I love this challenge! Your write-up was great and I love your "no flowers". Definitely will make for some fun cards. Perhaps I'll have a chance to create this weekend; better late than never!

My first thought on seeing today's colors "WHAT can I do with those?? ARG" But a little thought and ingenuity solved the conundrum . . . Here's my card:
