TLC640 ~ Swipe Your Credit Card ~ {05/29/2017}
Hello and welcome to another fun TLC Challenge.
It's my turn to host so I hope you will join us and play along.
To all my American friends, I wish you a Happy Memorial Day.
Did you do any bargain, online shopping?
This week our challenge is called:
TLC640; Swipe Your Credit Card
I made this card last week and so many seemed interested in trying it out so now is your chance. You need simple supplies that I think all of you will have on hand and this technique is simple too.
So here we go....
1. Spread ink onto a non-stick surface by rubbing your ink pad directly onto the surface.
For my cards I used Oxide Distress inks for one and then I tried using the regular Distress inks on the other just to be sure that any water based ink would work and they did.
2. Spray with just a bit of water.
3. Dip the edge of an old credit card or a piece of heavy cardboard into the wet ink.
(just the edge)
4. Swipe and drag onto your cardstock. I used a heavyweight card that
I get from a local store. I didn't use watercolour paper because I wanted the ink to sit on the top of the paper and not be readily absorbed.
5. Turn you card in different directions as you pull the ink over the surface.
6. Optional: Add lines or details with black ink and white acrylic paint or
splatter.
Be sure to add the keyword to you card so it will be added to the gallery
TLC640
The TLC640 gallery can be found here.
I created 2 cards for the challenge:
Grow Wild- Distress Oxide inks
Warmth of the Sun- Distress inks
Can't wait to see what you come up with.

In a way your technique was like one I learned in watercolor using a credit card....to make "rocks".....so that how I used yours today with ink, water, and a credit card. Your challenge combined nicely with today's CAS. Thanks, Karen.

I saw your card and was wondering if you'd feature it today! I've done this with paint for an early MIX challenge, but not with ink which gave your card a lovely light look (compared to acrylics, for sure!). Hope to find time to try it out. Thanks, Karen.

I've done this technique with acrylic paints but never thought to try any other medium. I was surprised how well this works with just ink & a little water! Thanks for expanding my horizons today, Karen. Here's my card before I'm off to the Memorial Day Celebrations:

Had time to make (and thankfully photograph this, as it was very gloomy and overcast when I got home) this before work. Fun. I'll be curious to try it with the distress oxides having read that they are juicier, but they will be an anniversary present so I can't open them yet :-(.

Fun! I only yesterday ordered the oxides. Eagerly anticipating their arrival, because I'd love to try this technique with them... Here's the regular distress card: TLC640 hello

This technique was fun, Karen! I love swiping my credit card (or in this case a gift card). It was the gift that keeps on giving! I ended up making 2 cards.
