Since there hasn't been any updated information on the You Matter Project, I was wondering if anyone else had some references for donations. I have a large envelope almost ready to go.
Thanks!
Well ladies I know Matter Project, lady moved and I don't work with Matter Project, But I donation to a lot different places I will glad to take stuffed your hands. Let me know. Thanks Linda
I'm working with a similar project called Connection For Abused Women & Their Children in Chicago. I've contacted them about receiving donations because I have a bunch that I was going to send to the you matter project too. I reached out to their director and they would love our donations!!! Here is the contact info and the website if you'd like to check it out. Abigail said she can send you an acknowledgement for tax purposes too if you'd like. I reached out to someone here at SCS about how to help promote this like the you matter project too!

I've also offered to host free card making classes for these women & children. Is anyone else from Chicago that would be interested in doing this with me? If they accept the invitation, I/WE would put your purging & de-stashing items to good use with them! - Catherine

Not sure if you saw the update, but Christi did not decide to move so the "You Matter Card Project" is still ongoing :-)
Here to put in a good word for Linda (hotwheels), who is very involved with donating the cards she makes to various places, including the Cole's Foundation, which you can read about by clicking the link in her signature line.
Maybe Linda will say a bit more here about what she will do with your donation and where it will go. And about the mission she has set for herself to use her stamping to help others.

Linda (hotwheels)- can you use already made card fronts? I am re-organizing my craft room and have some older card fronts (still in good condition but may have brads, etc. and dimensional items that are not suitable for the Cards for A Cause drive).
Could you use these (if you do not like the designs, maybe you could use the images and elements for your own cards)? I would not have envelopes to match and you may need to mount some onto card bases.
And , if so, are you able to receive a large Priority Mail envelope in your mailbox?
There any thing you we fine If I don't used them. I will Take the Tulsa Ok with me when mom goes for treatment for cancer, and give to patients for to used. And if package dose not mail box. The mail man leave it on the porch thank you Thank you! I will find a uses for all my goodies. Do you need my address?

Linda, wonderful! Is it still the Hillery St address (I have on file from the Alpha Crew)?
I most likely will not be able to mail until later this month since I am going out of town this week :-)

Here's just another idea... Are these are pre-made cards you are talking about or supplies to donate? If they are pre-made cards - I have recently become involved with a new organization for Suicide Prevention. Good friends of a friend lost their daughter to suicide and did not see it coming at all. Such a sad story. They are a grass roots organization to help parents learn to see the signs and are having an auction next month. I'm putting together a few baskets of my hand made cards to donate for their auction. If that interests you, I can get you the mailing address for that organization. Otherwise I know the center for abused women and Children would love them too!
I beleive things happen for a reason... and what happened today just warmed my heart about where I'm sending my next donation. I sell some of my crafting supplies on Ebay and a buyer bought this large kid-themed rubber stamp lot I had listed. I sent her a message thanking her and said that I was glad to see them going to a new home. And she wrote back that she's a teacher and she is buying crafting supplies for her school - because right now they have 20 stamps they keep in a shoe-box and teachers pass along this box of stamps from grade to grade, rotating each week. Right now her class is working on decorating bibles for journaling and notes. We just got to talking and I'm sending her a box of goodies this Friday to add to the shoe-box. I just messaged her and asked if it would be ok if I offered her school on this thread for those looking to donate. I shared how we are often cleaning out our stash and looking to send them to others in need. She said she would be just thrilled and that were angels in the world. I'm waiting for the address and the contact info, but I'll post it as soon as I have it.
It's just so nice when things align - someone buys something on ebay, we get to chatting as a result of a simple thank you message, and next thing you know - these classrooms will have more supplies to put in this shoe-box that gets passed around! I'll add the address shortly
Here is the information for the school I wrote about below who would just love any crafting items we are looking to donate. The students are PreK thru 12th grade and the teacher said she would be just thrilled to make surprise baskets of crafting items for the teachers to use with their kids! That is addition to the shoebox of stamps that go around from grade to grade each week. I'm hoping what they can pass around ends up being more than what can fit in a shoebox Here is the contact and the mailing address for any donations:
Thank you in advance to anyone, who like Jennifer McGuire says, Throw Kindness Around Like Confetti. I feel like that's what we are doing for these kids - Catherine

I received an email from Gretchen that she received a delightful box full of beautiful papers, markers, and supplies! She said the teachers were so touched by your kindness. Thank you for sharing these with the teachers and students!
Catherine, I'd love to send a box for the teachers and students. I'll try to get one mailed withing the week. Thanks for letting us know about this opportunity.
The envelope went out today. I'm not sure if the Center for Abused Women and Their Children received the package I sent back in September, but I hope they did, and I hope they were able to use the craft supplies. Thank you for sharing all of this information. [Hugs]
