Hello everybody - it's my turn as hostess this week, and I'm asking those of you who still have such things as brads and eyelets in your stash to pull them out this week and feature them on your cards.
Not just brads and eyelets, any metal accents will do! Who still has some Hodgepodge Hardware (though mine is all from WRMK) lurking in the background, or metal-rimmed tags. Remember those? Those little oval or rectangular frames for sentiments...charms... spiral clips are another; I think they look fabulous when I see other people use them but on my own cards I never quite seem able to carry it off.
If you don't have any of these, how about a regular paperclip from office supplies, or at a pinch, staples?
Or check out this FAUX METAL tutorial - I've used it on occasion to create little Asian charm substitutes, and Beate shows some cute little embellishments in the tutorial. I'll be perfectly happy if you try this technique out for today's challenge.
When you've finished creating, upload your card with the keyword WT636 and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card. It's especially appreciated by the hostesses!!
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Many thanks to Lisa, Toni and Cathy for creating some great samples to inspire you all.

Sabrina- awesome challenge, thank you! I had the pleasure to go on the local yarn shop tour yesterday, touring all over Seattle and outlying cities- so that's the reason for my button element. Added a silver background and metallic trim, along with spiral brads, safety pins, paper clip and a key chain. Here's Knitting Carp

What a fun challenge today, Sabrina! When I went to look for my hardware, I admit I was shocked at how much I still have! And I do still have some of the Hodgepodge Hardware...who would have known? LOL!
Fun challenge Sabrina. I still use brads, especially to attach flowers, but the stock of eyelets I have isn't disappearing very quickly. I used one in this card.
I Have several drawers full of metal elements - the oldest is some paperclips in circles triangles & squares (circa 1997) and I have NOT used a single one!!! Today is the day - thanks for the challenge Sabrina - Here is my card a little late since I had to stay extra hours at work today.
