Default Kraft paper`

It's been a while since I looked at catalogs, but didn't there used to be a card stock called "kraft"? Seems there was but can't find any evidence of such. Wanna help me out? Thanks.

If you are talking about SU card stock, it was renamed Crumb Cake several years ago.

SU Crumb Cake is a different color than Kraft. Joann's sells Kraft in regular and heavy weight cardstock. I'm sure the Michael's and ACMoore also carry Kraft. And Hobby Lobby, too.

Neenah has a paper that is Kraft. I get mine at my local stamp store, but know it can be found other places too.

Stampin Up still sells kraft cardstock, but it is 12x12.

Default The best comparisons.

I would say, it depends on how "Kraft-y" you want it. The original stuff was quite rough and full of fibers, and the color of a grocery store paper bag.
SU's Crumb Cake is fairly far away from real Kraft, being smooth.
You may have to go feel different brands, or get personal recommendations.

Kraft paper has a very, very wide range of colors...anything from tan to brown. Usually with just as wide a range of fibers and flecks in the paper.

Here's Neenah's Kraft and Desert Storm in the same pic:

Just to compare, Desert Storm is much closer to Crumb Cake, just a smidge lighter. PTI Classic Kraft is very close to Crumb Cake in color, but has more of the fibers in it, and no flecks.

Many Kraft colors are much darker, more yellow-brown...like grocery bags or corrugated cardboard...or darker. I still have a couple really ugly brownish Kraft envelopes hanging around. I should toss!

Seems each company has different colors they call Kraft. Gina K has Kraft and I love it and use that one a lot. Lawn Fawn calls their Kraft, Doe. My ink pads from both Gina K and Lawn Fawn pretty much match each other. The Stamps of Life has Gingersnap. I did notice that SU has Crumb Cake Note Cards and Envelopes in their retirement list. They look like a fun set to create several cards with.

Cool

I would like to add my 2 cents, too. The Kraft paper from at least 20 years ago (I got mine at Kelly Paper but don't know the brand name) was much lighter than the SU Crumb Cake and the Michael's and HL brands now. The only one I have found that matches what I remember is the Gina K Pure Luxury. I use it exclusively. The photo from L to R: Michael's Recollection Kraft, Hobby Lobby Paper Studio Kraft, SU Crumb Cake, and Gina K Pure Luxury 120 lb. The colors aren't exact (those of you that take great photos showing different shades of color, I salute you) but I hope you can get the idea.

If I understand correctly, Kraft is a type or grade of paper, not a color... that accounts for the variety in shades we've seen.

I like the kraft from The Paper Cut. Really nice people too, both on line and met them at their booth at a Stamp & SB Expo last year. I didn't know about their kraft until we used it in a recent class at an LSS. Smooth and takes ink beautifully. (We used it for Distress and Oxides.) (Their cream color is my fave cream too - smooth.)

Kraft paper is my favorite to work with. I buy the big heavyweight pack from Hobby Lobby, by The Paper Studio. Their envelopes match perfectly. Some other "Kraft" papers are smooth, or have an off color to them, like orange or something, and it's hard to find envelopes to match. I like true Kraft, that looks like a grocery bag.

I like PTI's (Papertrey Ink) kraft and it's reasonably priced.

Hello, I'm late to this conversation...but I was wondering how close SU's "Crumb Cake" is in color to "Kraft"?
I'd love a picture if that's possible for someone...TIA!!
