Scrappin' Challenge 2017
Can you believe this is our 9th year of Scrappin' Goal Challenge?! We sure completed an AWESOME number of pages together in 2009 through 2016 and I'm looking forward to MORE Scrap pages together in 2017! Let's keep scrappin'.
It was SO fun to chat about and see everyone's pages, goals and ideas for completing LOTS of scrapbook pages in 2017! Many had a common theme - get more pages done, use what's in our stash, meet new scrapping friends, plan time/crops...
What fun we'll have sharing ideas, cheering success, keeping the motivation and making new friends. Our scrap goal isn't all about getting pages done, it's also about enjoying the process! Please feel free to join at any time!
Here's the CHALLENGE. Each person can share their page goals, pages and ideas. for those of use who like Annual Goals, we will have a better shot at meeting our yearly goal if we break it down by month.
*In this thread, we track our monthly goals. We find it helps us keep getting pages done which is good for all of us.
You choose your own scrapbook page goal and monthly spend goal. You may select 2, 3, 5, 50 pages....you choose. The idea is to be flexible so if you know you're going to be really busy, you can reduce the number one month or if you're going to a couple crops or scrap weekends, up the number. This also works for the budget. Each month, you can change your goals depending on your calendar!
The whole goal of the challenge is to get lots of pages done all the while enjoying sharing with Virtual Friends.
Are you UP for the CHALLENGE? Come and Play in the 2017 Scrapbook Challenge! Here's to Meeting our Scrapping Goals & Meeting New Friends!
We'd love to "oohh" and "aahh" over your pages so please post with key word "sbc17apr"
Good afternoon! I am happy that I made my goal last month. Since this is the last month before we pack up to move, I am only going to work on partially completed layouts to keep my craft room somewhat tidy. Some need journaling, etc, so I will finish those up and them place them in the bin to be put in albums later. I also need to do 2 shutterfly photobooks, as well as a few blog posts from past trips. Lastly, I will have to pack for our upcoming 2 week cruise!! It's going to be a busy month for me, ladies.
YTD: 43
Goal: Random projects

We leave from FL and go to the Azores, then Portland (England), Dover (England), Amsterdam (Netherlands), and Copenhagen (Denmark). We've been to several of these places, but we're always eager to get back

So wonderful to see all the challenges up and ready to go. As you know I was offline for a few days last week and unfortunately didn't get to complete another LO although I did manage a card after a lengthy drought
YTD I'm now at 16....which does make me a lightweight compared to all you other ladies but as it has sometimes taken me a year in the past to create this many, I'm very happy, so thank you all for the challenges and encouragement.
My goal for April is 7....I'm being realistic but am challenging myself (a little) knowing our commitments this month.
Good luck everyone with your goals and I look forward to seeing all your wonderful creations.
Happy week everyone and hugs from Western Australia

Just realized I posted the wrong link for the scrapbook sketch, but since I can't change it now, you can just use the link to get to the layout that I made for the sketch, and there's a link there to take you to the sketch. Sorry about that!
Exceeded my March goal with 22 completed and YTD 80. I think I'll go with goal of 20 again this month. I'm getting a lot more pages done because of the sharing of ideas, challenges, and goals on this site. Thank you to all of you that work so diligently in the background to keep this running so smoothly! It has really helped my creativity and desire to keep completing pages.
Sorry I am late to the party!!! I was watching for the thread on April 1...... on April 2 my sister and bil arrived for an 5 day visit.... we have been busy!!

Wow, 1400 is a lot of photos to scrap, so good thing you can do it digitally. My hubby and I are going to London for two weeks at the end of the month and I'm sure we are going to take thousands of photos! But scrapping them will probably have to wait until all my kids are grown and out of the house . . .
Happy Monday everyone....just some chit chat....our youngest son, Leith, has landed in LA and commencing his world trip. Whilst we were taking him to the airport early Sunday morning, our second son had proposed to his girlfriend in Central Park. Yay...a wedding to plan...and more photos to scrapbook
Feeling happy and blessed.
Hoping to create some pages this week as we have a couple of free days.
Happy week everyone.

Wow, Jayne, a lot of excitement for you! Is your son that proposed in Central Park, in NYC? That is where our son and Daugher in law live.
Hi Sharon, yes it was in NY. They have been travelling in the US for a couple of weeks. They leave NY tomorrow to head to Canada. We are so happy for them. That will be 2 sons married, one with 2 children, and our youngest.....maybe he may meet a nice American girl whilst travelling
I'm intending to create more pages this week, photos ready to be printed. That's the plan
Happy week.

Happy Tuesday everyone. More chit chat from me.......
I read today on FB that SU are intending to stop selling Becky Higgins Project Life. Has anyone else heard of this? Hopefully not, although I do purchase my Project Life stocks also from a local supplier here in Oz.

Jayne, my DD scrapped until the last few years. Now, she orders those digi books from Shutterfly and places like. I have even done about five of them. But, I have so much paper stash, I have to keep scrapping! Now, the silly thing is, I have a shutterfly album, and then I do a paper version , too! lOL. But I got all those books free. And I am not as good as my DD in designing them. Most of mine are pretty much straight photos, while hers look more like a scrapbook. I am not good at moving stuff around and putting on embellishments electronically! I just can't figure the thing out. All that to say, I think more people are doing it digitally!
I do think that scrapbooking is becoming an older hobby - although I love making paper books!! I am working through my items and trying to not buy anything new. My daughter loves to look through my books and appreciates all the hard work. I also do Shutterfly photo books if I want them done quickly. I usually wait until I have a freebie code though. They take up less room and weigh less! haha! I still think the paper ones are more a labor of love and you can feel it when you flip through the pages.

Oh how sad to hear our hobby of making memory albums of photos with our papers is fading away. I will keep doing them until I am a "thing of the past". I think those who look at 3-D books they can touch will appreciate our"labor of love" for a while. Actually having photos printed seems to have faded. With that all being digital, so much is lost if those files are lost. Not so with our paper pages. I still cherish the idea of sitting together with a loved one looking through the pages with all the goodies and textures pasted on.

There have been a lot of hobbies that have come and gone and a few that have faded but not gone away completely!! Maybe there will always be people that like to scrap along with quilting, knitting, embroidering, which I realize are fiber crafts rather than paper. Scrapbooks in one form or other has been around for a very long time.
Here is a picture (a poor lighted picture) of all the shadow boxes on the wall.
