So I have a plan.....I'm going to be 2,000 kilometers away from my craft room for VSN, down in Melbourne, visiting our eldest daughter, my sister, her husband and hopefully my brother who is going to fly across from Tasmania for a weekend. What I'm proposing is this.... I'm going to make up a whole lot of card bases cut variouse coloured card mats to go ontop of the bases then take a whole lot of images to colour and hopefully some of the challenges will match up.
Hope this will be kosher, could someone let me know if it isn't   :lol:Hugs

Oh, you are going to love VSN. I have to admit I'm addicted but can't always get all the challenges done because of family demands :(I work on the principal that anything is better than nothing and it keeps me happy

As I spend more and more time on taxes (I do returns for family as well as ours each year), and more and more time driving my three girls everywhere, and less and less time stamping (as in, no stamping has been done in a month), the MORE and MORE I am getting excited about this VSN!
Nicole, I have hardly stamped either...and have only uploaded 1 pic to my gallery all year. A few unedited photos on my laptop, and a list of must-make-belated-birthday cards on my desk. VSN is a great motivator for getting a decent stack of cards made!
...and it's more fun than doing taxes.

Just a couple of quick questions girls. What are the times for the challenges on fri and sat? I need to do the conversions for Australian time.⏰
Next question is, will there be a shopping list, when will it be available?
Hi Tracy, it is my experiance that the callenges will start posting at 8 am Qld time 9 am daylight savings time in the southern states on the eastern seaboard, you will need to make the necessary adjustments for South Australia or Western Australia. For Saturday / Our Sunday the first challenge starts at 3 am / 4 am in the southern states. I usually setmy alarm for 5 am and start at that point, then I go back and try to catch up at the end but normally don't get all of them done these days.
I have in the passed when I was younge r and had more stamina got up at 2 am to play, can't sustain this any more so do what I can and just enjoy the experience.
VSN pushes my boundaries and gives my creativity a huge boost which is why I love i think so much and why even if I c a n only get a couple of cards done i think is worth it  .
We have 5 challenges on Friday March 31... 5 pm, 6, 7, 8, and 9 Eastern time
Then 10 challenges on Saturday April 1st, starting at 1 pm eastern all the way up to 10 pm eastern
We are starting to gather shopping list items. I will try to get that out by this Friday so you have 2 weeks to find goodies.
Glad you will be joining us!
Thanks so much! I'm very excited. I haven't done a VSN in a while but I know they are so much fun and unleash my creativity in amazing, sometimes unexpected, ways. 🎉

Thanks so much Marg. I also used to do the 2am thing but I'm also not as young as I used to be! I could try to do it but it would take about 2 weeks sleep straight to catch up!😴

I've never done a VSN. I've written down the dates. If we don't have the items on the "shopping list", we can substitute and do our best, right? I don't need any additional stress right now. ;-)

Absolutely!
VSN is meant to be a fun event, and for many of us, it gives us a boost of creativity! Complete as many challenges as you want.
For me, there are times when I spend a crazy amount of time on ONE card! But in VSN, we challenge you to create a card in one hour! If I need lots of birthday cards, I have a favorite stamp set on hand that can be used in different ways.
I also cut and fold card bases in advance. This is not cheating; it's considered "prep" and doesn't count towards your time.
Not that there are VSN spies watching over you! ;)
Through VSN, I have "met" many wonderful people here online...and some I have met in real life!
Just Have FUN!

I have played in quite a few VSNs and never have I had everything on the shopping list. I improvised with what I had and had a wonderful time! I love VSN for the challenges that get me to try things I would not otherwise and for the one hour limit. I am a slow card maker and it is SO freeing to let go and go with my first creative instinct. I also love VSN because my stamp space is in our family room and my family congregates there throughout the day as I stamp and it is just so fun having all them around as I create. My daughters have even made dinner a couple times so I could keep stamping!
Whew, good thing Brenda mentioned this in the favorites thread today because, I had no clue it was coming up. and YAY me, I have everything on the list... lol or is that oh dear! ;)
Marg! 2 am is so dedicated. Me I read through them and spread them out over the weekend mostly because, they start while I am at work on friday's usually.
for anyone that has not played before you have an hour to assemble the card, anything you had done in advance does not count towards that hour and you have a week to get it uploaded before the gallery closes so, although its exciting to play through them live if you miss a couple and then spend time playing catch up is OK too.
(I don't think they make enough coffee in the world for me to be stamping at 2 am lol)
Guess who is coming to my house that weekend? Jay_Bee!!! All the way from across the pond. Not sure how busy we will be but if we get a chance to create a card we will pop in and say hi!!!!

For the upload deadline, you would need to to remind non Fan Club members that their uploads will NOT be approved on Sunday, so if they wish to have them uploaded before the deadline, it would need to be by about 9.30 Pacific time on Saturday to make sure they are approved...
