This week's challenge is inspired by the current SU promotion on the new monogram alphabet. This week your challenge is to use a monogram on your cards or scrapbooking projects. It can use the monogram alphabet, the Headline or Letterpress alphabet or you can even go faux. Also, I'd love some input on whether you use the first or last initial of yourself or the person you are making the card for....I am always in a quandry about what to do.
Please remember to put WT56 in your keywords section (don't leave any spaces or the link won't work!!!!) and post a link back here.
Wishing everyone a happy Easter and wonderful long weekend.
Happy stamping, Julia
PS Thanks so much to everyone who sent me birthday cards last week...I am so enjoying them. We still have the flu here and I am trying to get around to private messaging each of you.
Location: In my Happy Place with no one bothering me....I hope!

Thanks Julia!! I always wonder about the monogram thing, too. Most people say last name. I think that is the more formal and first name would be more fun and casual!!
Great challenge!! That's what Mr Brown is bringing me too!! (coming today)
Here are two faux monograms: the "V" was cut out of rubber by a friend; the "j" is computer generated. Now, off to make a new one for this challenge! Thanks for getting me moving on the monograms again!
Busy week for me so no time to play but I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with. I can't for the life of me get excited about the mono's but knowing all of you girls I'm sure I'll change my mind!
Good morning gals! Cool...Great Challenge Julia, Happy belated Birthday! Hope everyone at your house gets well soon! Happy Easter Everyone!!!
I found some big magnet letter's at the Target spot so, I'm going see if it fits on a card and maybe trace it...use sticky notes to make a neg image???hmmm...Ok, off to Stamp!
Hmmmm.... the only big one I have is '&'. Wonder what I could do with that? Although I did get letterpress & headline from my SAB sales -- haven't mounted them yet! I'm working on mounting a few other sets I got last week. And today I have a huge order coming for a customer who is paying me to mount them all! Of course, UPS doesn't get here till afternoon...

Lucky you getting both! Just mount whatever letter you want to use and get stampin!
You won't believe this...I went for broke...literally and got ALL the monogram stamps, and they just came today But, I've actually made two recently...here they are:
I love these stamps more for the other options rather than the true monogram...like T for Thanks, J for Joy, K for Kiss...I think they're more versatile that way
Hope to be able to get to do one today, but hectic, my son just got home from Spring Break...a ton of laundry

Good Morning Ladies!! Fun Challenge Julia! I don't have any of the big monogram stamps yet but I have some letters. I'll have to see what I can come up with.
As for your question: You should use the first init. of the First name of a woman... The first init. of the Last name for a man... For children, first name. I hope this helps... :p
"Where were they in Walmart...I would spring for the .98 Monograms!"
...In my Walmart they were on one of the end caps in the fabric dept...they have sticky dots on the back to hang them on the wall...for those that can"t be used either side, I have just been peeling the dots off and then filling in the missing ink with a cotton ball after it is stamped...they had some shapes too, a smiley, cross, star, heart...
Here's mine. I'll confess, I didn't stamp it this morning. It was one of the cards we did at March's Technique Class. I was trying to get my customers excited about the upcoming special. Plus it was on St. Patrick's day, so of course it had to be green. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
Great challenge. I haven't purchased any of the monogram alphabet but I tried my hand at faux after seeing some of the cute ideas out there.
These are two cards from my gallery.
Just got off the phone with a friend, and we are talking about making the leap for our mono's..... so this is so timely! In the meantime, I will be using my Letterpress Alpha.
I am making a card tin filled with cards for my MIL for her 5/4 bd, so this perfect timing there also. Great job being so in tune with me, Julia! LOL!
It is going to be fun for me because I don't have the Monogram stamps either...I will have to get creative....IMAGINE THAT! LOL
It occurs to me that a monogram doesn't have to big, does it? I suppose it could be tiny and sweet. Couldn't you just use any letter from an alphabet set, or even just one letter from any sentiment stamp? Just thinking aloud here....

Oh yes I know...I was just being silly since I don't have the HUGE ONES! LOL
I have just the "G" for DD (Grace), but I've had an idea to use it with the graceful words "grace" and the hostess "G is for" and some other things that go with her name...maybe do a framed thing...so this will get me off my hiney and started!! Thanks for the challenge Julia! And happy be-lated birthday!
Here's one I did for spring on my Z Becky Brown purse!!
I cheated too though - haven't bought the monogram yet so this is a Wallie World foam S!! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I used a smaller Little Davis foam stamp for my monogram card. I want to try doing a large one later on today when I get back from helping my MIL move. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers (still pending as of 9:05 Pacific time)
Good morning If you don't have the monograms, go to home page. Click on Stampin 101. On the first page click on monograms on computers. You can then make them on your computer. This is what I do. You can make any size you want. Good luck. Talk to you later. Janet
