Jennifer McGuire had some of these dies in her list of Favorite Things for 2016 which was the first time I had seen anything by Birch Press Design. I agree, they are amazing and it is fun to see something new in dies.
Birch Press dies are impressive - and expensive - though you are getting a set of three A2-sized dies. Jennifer's new video also uses one of their hearts layered dies that's less spendy. I'm not a hearts person (wish I was!) so hope they come out with another shape - stars anyone? : )

The Birch Press dies are gorgeous, but I'm not a heart person either, at least not enough to justify the cost. But those Gina Marie dies...I saw TONS that I liked! And I love the prices!
LOL! I hear you Bugga! To be fair, they're actually sets of three A2 sized dies that can be used all together, individually, or two together. And you can buy just one. Or two. ; ) Some dies within a set are pretty different from each other - like the Amour set, and some not as much - like the squares are 3 sizes of squares.

But I haven't sprung for any yet! I'm afraid I'd use it a time or three and move on. I have to be sure it would get more than rare use. But if one fell from the sky into my die cutting machine I wouldn't complain.

Lori Whitlock has some similar cut files in the Silhouette store for 99 cents per set. I bought a few during the half price sale, but haven't had a chance to try them out yet.
They are expensive and I haven't bought any yet. But I do think we need to reward the artists who fuel the industry. Because, I'm sure not creative enough to think of something like this. And I don't have the resources to bring it to the market. But you can bet I'll be saving some overtime pay to make a purchase.
Beautiful but way too much money for me!! Is it me or has this already expensive hobby gotten almost ridiculously expensive. I have more than I could use in a lifetime. Might be time to stop looking at stuff I don't have and start using what I do have.

To me they're very reasonably priced. Those sets contain three or four card cover dies. Comparable prices elsewhere would be $90.00-$120.00. The stamps are low priced and gorgeous also. I'm hooked. Thanks for this!

I agree. I'm avoiding classes and events because they all cause me to buy more stuff. I need to use what I have (which now fills a very very very very large room in my basement).

Love the hearts. If I think of $72 for one thing it sounds high but I've bought complementary dies from other companies and ended up spending that much so to me its not unreasonable.
I am tempted by some of those Gina Marie dies. Has anyone ordered from Scrapbook Outlet? Or have you had any trouble with them? Sure are some lovely ones...

I've ordered several sets, and have been very pleased with them. The ordering process went smoothly, and the dies shipped pretty quickly, too.
I got several different shapes in the "stitched" series, ovals, etc. Quite a few people here at SCS have gotten the Gina Marie dies and rated them highly.

I'm going to have to stop reading the SCS forum. LOL This morning I had never heard of Birch Press Designs, and now I am in love with their products. I am resistant to paying $20 or more for a single die, but I certainly do love the look of their layered dies. Wondering if I could buy A + B or A + C and save some money? Of course all three together is fantastic. I even like the hearts and I'm not a heart person. Sigh. Got to have a serious talk with my bank account. I hate it when my head says, "Be sensible," and my heart says, "But I love it."Dea

Dang, this makes me want a set. I'm not sure which I'd get. Those that fit my style (squares/circles/Dazzle) wouldn't be as versatile as others if used solo. Maybe Savilla, which is flowers but can be thought of as stars. Delfina and hearts may give the most options used alone but I'm not a hearts person.

Sigh. Never should have clicked on this thread! (Feverishly counts birthday money all the while cursing SCS gals...)Plan to wait XX days and see if I still have the fever for 3 of the sets.
I would have to make one h*lluva lot of cards to justify this purchase, especially the heart design. And especially when I own a heart cover plate that I bought for $16 from Papertrey Ink that allows you endless design possibilities.

Thanks! I've been eyeing these dies but it's hard to justify the price. I can easily justify 99 cents .
Sue...........I am trying to remember, don't you have a Cameo? If you have an electronic cutting machine you can make your own files just like those dies and save yourself a ton of money!!!
No - I have no electronic cutting machines of any kind and I've been resistant to adding one more thing to take up real estate in my room! I'm sure it would save me a lot of money on things like these dies, but I'm not sure how much I would use it in general, so I'm still sitting on the fence. Then, there's all the research on which is the best/most versatile of all of the machines out there, blah blah blah...
I tend to drag my feet on a lot of things. I only had a Cuttlebug until about three years ago, when I finally caved and got a Big Shot (because I NEEDED one of the BIGZ XL dies that wouldn't fit in the Cuttlebug). We'll see where I go on this one...

Probably Sevilla. I have some embossing folders that are similar to some of the others (NOT the same, but for the purposes of this exercise, I'm going with this rationale), but nothing even remotely like Sevilla. And, as you said, it's sort of star-ish, and flower-ish, so you could play it either way. I AM a heart person, but I'd still go with Sevilla...
That being said, after looking at the other dies, I'm pretty smitten with a couple of the ornaments and the floating snowflake...

Here I was, proud of myself for resisting (up to this point, anyway), the gorgeous but crazy-expensive Birch Press dies, and now, I'm trying to talk myself out of an even more expensive electronic die-cutter, LOL. (Obviously, it's a better investment, long-term, but my bank account is more concerned with the here and now.)
I love this place, but gosh... y'all are amazing enablers! :lol:

Listen to your head and heart... I bought a lovely Silhouette (it's turquoise and white, ahh). I used it once and it's in a box headed to an LSS garage sale..
I'm 100% sure it's a wonderful machine. I've seen how people make it sing. But as much as I love playing on iPads and PCs, I realized I didn't want another computer learning curve, and didn't want crafting to interface with computers more than it does - to print out templates, PDFs, etc.
This is NOT a value judgement. I wish I didn't feel like this. But the sense of relief I felt - along with guilt for spending the $$ - when I decided to send it on its way, made me know it was the right decision, at least for now.
And a P.S. for new crafters - the regular Big Shot and Cuttlebug take the same size dies. The Big Shot Plus takes the supersized dies, so the way to go for some. I have a Cuttlebug sitting on the corner of my PC desk so use it tons. Real estate ruled. But I've used Big Shots at LSS's since they have both machines, and I like them both. Just my take.
