Ideas on Storing Kits and Collections

Happy New Year Everyone.....How do you all store your monthly kits and/or collections?

I'm looking for ideas on how to store monthly kits and Catherine Pooler collections that contain several stamp/die sets. I'm currently storing them in the box they come in, but I'm not using them as I forget they are there or what is in them, even though I've catalogued the contents on the front of the box.
I don't have the heart to separate them but I have a feeling some of you are going to tell me to seize the moment and just do it.

All my other stamps and dies are stored by category/theme in Avery Elle envelopes as recommended by Jennifer McGuire in one of her videos and this works well.

I'm a procrastinator and think I need someone to say just do it....))

Put on your big girl panties and get'er done! OK so I told you as requested. LOL

You should look closely at your kits. Do you really like them? Be honest, are you really going to make it? If not, then put all the put all the supplies with your other supplies so you have other opportunities to use them up. I store everything by color so when I make something chances are I'll find the coordinating pieces anyway.

Also, don't keep things you don't like. Give, sell, trade or toss. Don't keep anything that does not bring you joy. It just clutters your area and is a constant reminder that you bought something you didn't even like which clutter your mind. KWIM?

As for storage, I learned I'm not a "kit person" so I no longer buy kits but when I did I stored them in 12x12 Iris boxes with the supplies and then I found I wasn't using them and had forgot what I had. Now, when I buy things for a particular project I still store them in 12x12 boxes and I label the box. If I buy a stamp or a die for the project, I make a sample and put it in the box as a reminder and then I store the stamp or die with everything else. After I make the project, the left overs get stored with everything else so I'll use it up.

I used to subscribe to a SB kit and bought other kit types from one company. I don't scrapbook; it was a good way to build up a stash. Right now they live in semi-transparent zippered pouches, so I can see the names and a few items. The large SB kits are in a big cube and the small ones in a plastic box with handles.

I'm modifying my office/craft room, reorganizing some items, and pulling some for donating and putting in an LSS's garage sale. So it will be a logical time to break up those kits. But it's really hard. I'm not sure why, other than if I want to try to find more of something, I won't know what it is from. But that can be taken care of by noting the company and name with items I might want to look for again.

Anyway, I feel your pain and wish you luck and perseverance!
