Happy Thursday, everybody!! It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week. It's been quite a while since we had a song-based WTUI challenge, and I thought this was a wide-open challenge these week as you can either make last-minute Christmas projects or move on to something else. Me, I would have loved to be imagining that it was "Summertime, and the livin' is easy", but we are just back from a break in Paris and I still needed some Christmas cards for local mailing so that kept me in Christmas mood.
When you've created your card, upload it with the keyword WT614 , remember to tell us which song you were inspired by, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card .
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
My thanks to Carla, Cathy and Lisa for great samples. It looks as if we all took the Christmas option ;-).
It's sing-along time!! I see all the team still needed Christmas cards but I'm hoping some of you will be able to get us singing along with other favourites!! Thanks for all the cookie recipes you shared last week, I am really looking forward to trying some of them.
It's my work lunch today, so I'll be a bit later than usual in getting to comment on the gallery.
What a pleasant surprise, Sabrina, when I saw your challenge and realized the card I had been working on this evening would work with your theme. Thanks!
Here is mine, I'm not happy with the results, but I guess we all have the one that looks better in our head then it does on paper. Well I don't like anything about this card.
Sabrina- great challenge, thanks! I was inspired by the song "Happy Holidays" sung by Andy Williams- and combined this with a thermos- themed card I saw on the Internet. I reverse engineered my card with an upside down cup from SU's Paper Pumpkin Kit- Thanks A Latte- and added some recycled bits (the star, the hat and sentiment) from product packaging. Added a few pine boughs, and a purple brad to compliment my background card. Here's happy holidays cocoa

What a fun & imaginative challenge, Sabrina!! I work at a church that is attached to a pre-school so I often hear the children practicing songs for their various performances. Some of them like my inspiration Song - Fairies in the Garden- (See link in my description) run through my head for days on end! Here is my inspiration card:
Gosh - I'm surprised how many people as well as me are still needing Christmas cards! I'm having fun looking at the gallery with all the songs it's setting off in my head .
Sabrina- had to do another card, waited for a power transformer to get fixed before I could post it! Gave me time to do a vintage style card with lots of foliage and fussy cutting, a set of reverse die cut pine branches, and an aqua poppy element for "pop"! Santa's even made an appearance! You can see my die cut lighted tree peeking out from the center top of the card- with a candy cane tie! Here's O Christmas Tree

Such a fun challenge! I was inspired by "Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow". Here's MY CARD.
