Challenge Title: may your joy be as countless as the golden grain
Hostess: stamp_momma aka Lori Craig
Keyword: FF16stampmommaA
Date: Sunday, October 9th
I am so delighted to be bringing you an opening challenge for our very first ever Falliday Fest at Splitcoaststampers. It's just the boost I needed to get my brain wrapped around the goodies and cards that I'll need through the next few months, and it's been so fun to revisit my beautiful collection of fall and Christmas stamps! So, thank you for joining us for the fun!
I have had the honor of living many beautiful places through the years, but I am a Kansan by birth and last year we returned to my homeland! I love it here. I love the rolling hills, the people and our deep roots in agriculture as the 'bread basket' of the world! My favorite time of year here is just before wheat harvest - which is actually in the spring - early June. But, the sea of amber waves of grain is a site to behold. I'm thankful!
My challenge for you is to create a thanksgiving card and include wheat in your image: stamp, hand-doodled, photo, you decide! I can't wait to see what you share! I've attached my sample and samples from my beautiful co-hosts for inspiration to get you started!
Thanks for playing!

Hmmm, Kathy, that is very nice. I'm trying to think if I have anything that resembles wheat.. but I really don't think I do. =/
Do you take your computer into your craft room when you make cards? I find I'm either in the craft room, away from the computer... or on the computer, and not doing anything crafty. =(
Neat challenge, & I think I may have a wheat-ish stamp even! I was wondering, does the card have to say Thanksgiving, or can it be just a "thankful"-type card, with an autumnal color scheme? Yes, I am a perfectionist, and a stickler for rules & doing it "right"! LOL
What a great challenge! I had fun combining 3 tags- 1 with a cloudy sky, 1 with wheat, and 1 with my sentiment. Used burlap ribbon and twine for my bow, and added a light blue and yellow dc flower with a brad/twine combo for an embellishment. Finished with 3 light blue beads, some turquoise washi tape, and stitching. Here's FF16stampmommaA Harvest Thanks

I have a tablet and WiFi, so I take it into the craft room with me.
I had to get creative on this one...no wheat stamps of anykind, so I colored the ground here to look like straw and added jute to the middle brad (after I took this picture)
Thanks for the challenge, Lori. I had a couple of wheat stamps to choose from. This one let me use my new Cared Creator die. I like how the edging works with the framing of the stamp. Here's my card FF16StampMommaA Harvest of Plenty
No wheat stamp here and no drawing ability whatsoever...which is one reason I own a Cricut so to that I must go. Hopefully, that doesn't disqualify me since it isn't a stamp. Plenty of ink used for background however!

Andrea - it does not have to say Thanksgiving! Look at my sample! Just the spirit of thankful!
