Challenge Title: JOY Fold Card Hostess: bejoyce, Barbara Joy Joyce Keyword: FF16bejoyce Date: Wednesday, October 12, 2016
***************CHALLENGE DESCRIPTION******************* Welcome to day four of our Falliday Fest, and welcome to my JOYful challenge!
Many, many years ago, when I was born, my parents named me Barbara Joy. Twenty-one years later, I married Jim Joyce and became Barbara Joy Joyce (yes, really!). Maybe that's why I've always enjoyed making Joy Fold Cards!
So for today's challenge, I'm asking you to make a JOY FOLD card. Here's a Joy Fold Card tutorial complete with dimensions and a video.
Have fun, and thanks for playing in my challenge! And a huge thank you to my sample makers for their inspiration! Your cards are wonderful!

My grandma whose real name was Elaine. was nicknamed JOY ( I did not know that was a nickname until I was an adult) anyways I have a zillion JOY sentiments so, I was just tickled reading your name story Joyce and I will study and study this at work today in hopes of having the first one turn out properly lol
A JOYous Good Morning to you! Thanks for stopping by to spend some time together making fun cards today during our first Falliday Fest!
Not only will you love making a Joy Fold Card or two, you'll find this design a really great way to use up some of that DS paper you've been hoarding (yes, I have super-powers and I can see your craft area!). ;)
I'll be popping in all day, so please join me for a fun chat and share links to your creations in this thread!

Not sure I ever knew this technique was called the Joy fold, but it certainly is one of my favorites. I struggle using designer paper and this is one technique that can help me get over that hump. Photo of the inside didn't come out so I will retake and upload that in a bit. My husband says the card is too busy but what does he know :p
Oh boy! Barb, THANK YOU SO MUCH!! I had never done this particular fold, and as a scrapbooker, I seem to have an unending supply of patterned papers. I love to use these "leftovers" to make cards, but I swear patterned papers are like rabbits and multiply every time I close the craft room door. Now you introduce me to this fold, and I can use three times the paper I've used before. Thank you! This is my first Joy Fold card, but I'm sure there will be more:
What a terrific technique! I used fall colors with turquoise and blue for highlights for my card within a card- added some die cut hedgehogs and a pumpkin and leaf- which serves as a "catch" for my hedgehog card. Finished with a yellow floss/twine bow. Here's sending hedgehugs

This was so fun. I had never used this fold before but I will now...
Hi c-mouse! Your card is adorable! Be sure to upload it to the gallery (using keyword FF16bejoyce) so everyone will see it, and to be eligible for the fabulous prizes!.
If you need help, just ask! :-)

Thanks Barbara for this great Challenge. It takes me out of my comfort Zone because i am not good in technique cards. Luckily this was an easy one ;-). Here it is:
Barbara, I LOVE this challenge as I have never created a joy-fold card! So it's a first for me, but it won't be the last. Great challenge!! Here is my card.
Just a quick note to all of you who have made Joy Fold cards--thanks so much for playing in this challenge! I hope you're having fun with Falliday Fest! Your cards are so wonderful--whether Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or some other occasion. And I hope you'll keep this clever fold in your repertoire; it's a great way to use up patterned paper, and so much fun! Thanks again!
