I'm excited that the next VSN will be the weekend I come back from camping. I come back that Thursday afternoon and have the rest of the week and weekend off work. So I am setting aside time to do the challenges. I'm hoping to get more challenges done this time. Are the hostess spots filled yet? Or do you need anymore hostesses?
You know what, I don't say this enough but I so appreciate all the effort that goes into planning VSN. Even if I don't get a chance to play in time, I often enjoy the challenges at a later date just to keep life interesting. It is SO MUCH FUN!! Thank-you

Okay - so the VSN theme is tied in with sports. I'd like to hear who are everyone's local professional sports teams?
We have Calgary Flames NHL hockey, Calgary Stampeders CFL Football, and Calgary Roughnecks Lacrosse. Um......guess where I live? If you guessed Calgary, Alberta, Canada....you'd be right!

I'm not really a sports fan. I tend to root for the Pittsburgh Steelers when it comes to football. But I haven't followed them as much the past few years.
I'm not into a lot of sports.....BUT....since Colorado is home of the Denver Broncos....Superbowl winners we do watch them! We used to call them the Orange Crush when I was in elementary school just a few years ago! ;)
Not a sports fan here either, but I do know the area teams; Seattle Seahawks, Seattle Sounders FC and the Mariners and in the Women's leagues, Seattle Reign FC and Seattle Storm. And please don't forget the Rat City Rollergirls from my old stomping grounds in White Center!!
I'm not much of a sports fan either but...if I had to choose one of our professional teams to watch it would be the Wild....I love hockey! It's exciting to watch ;)
I just joined Split Coast Stampers so the June VSN will be my first. Is there a location on this site where I could go to get a better understanding of how this event will be conducted and what is required of participants?

Welcome! VSN is really fun..so glad you'll be joining us. Here's a thread that will tell you all the particulars. And don't hesitate to ask any questions. It all starts Friday June 17th!!
Hi everyone, will be home from our three month British holiday where we have been traveling none stop with no creative outlet for the three months. I am so looking forward to this VSN and some serious card making. Not even going to try and preempt the challenges, just going to go with the flow, woo hoo.
Thank you for your response. I am still unclear as to what to expect the day of the event. Will we log in to VSN and enter a live chat room, or a webinar or will we simply see a schedule of the time frames that each challenge will be conducted and the requirements for that challenge and upload our cards at the end of each challenge? I am eager to learn from the experts and want to take full advantage of this opportunity.
Arizona Cardinals! Go Cards! Can't wait for VSN - love the sports theme. But I bet there will be something for everyone, even if you aren't into sports.

Welcome to SCS SuJ and so glad to see you here on the Craft Your Passion Chat Thread!
This is the VSN chat thread where participants chat before and during the challenge. Now that you've posted, you're subscribed and probably getting emails when others post. You'll see "We are Live" with a link to the challenge post by Lee or Misti when it starts. To help you prepare, a shopping list of any special items needed will be posted here a week or two prior to the VSN. There's also usually a sneak peek posted with one to two challenges. That's a good chance to try out the process. Just don't post any cards made until that challenge is live.
Guidelines for the challenge and instructions for posting your card are in each challenge. The VSN Guidelines and Tips that Polly posted gives you the general guidelines.
VSN's typically begin 5PM EST. The VSN Master Challenge thread will be posted with the first challenge. Additional challenge threads are posted on the hour until 9PM EST, then resume Saturday at 12PM EST. The last challenge is posted by 9PM EST. You can play along during the challenges and chat along here. No pressures, you don't have to complete every challenge and you don't have to do them live. You have a week to complete and post your cards.
Hope that helps! Here's a link to another thread that may cover questions you may have New to VSN? Ask anything here! . Feel free to ask any questions. The goal is to have fun!

Hello to all!! This is my first time trying out the VSN challenge. I'm so excited! As for my favorite sports teams, Living in Wisconsin it would be wrong to say any team besides the Packers and Brewers so that is what I'm going with ;) I've been separated from SCS for the past 5 years so getting back into the creative groove is soooo much fun. Hopefully I can learn new techniques and tricks to make my creations as beautiful as the cards that I've seen in the galleries these past for weeks.
Thank you all for being here and making this experience such a great memory that I will treasure for a life time.

Hi Kari! Welcome back! I visited WI when I was about 5 and for some reason it turned me into a die-hard Packers fan. I think I wore the little sweatshirt my parents bought me there until it fell apart!
Getting closer.........so excited. It's been so long since I could do one live.
Okay, we've covered professional sports teams. Now what is everyone's favorite Olympic sport? I have to admit that since I'm in Canada, my taste leans toward the winter sports like hockey and curling. For summer, I do like the uneven bars.

Hi Kari! Live means that we move over the challenges at the top of the hour and chit chat while playing along. No video live chats since it's just not possible to do with so many different hostesses, time zones, etc.
But you have a full week to play along so don't worry about the pressure and just have fun with us!!
I have company coming for the weekend, but since I'm off for the summer, I'm planning to do some of the challenges next week. I notice it's not called virtual STAMP night; does that mean it's a variety of crafts this time?
Hi all! I think this is the first vsn I haven't hosted for a while. I'll play, still-- as I can. I just found out this morning that I've another shoulder surgery coming up, but it's well after vsn. As it's my right shoulder this time, and I'm VERY dominant on the right side, I'll not be in any condition to craft. Remember, Lee? Remember?

Then you better enjoy the VSN with us, while you can. Hopefully, you'll recuperate quickly and get back to crafting soon.

Oh Brenda,
I am so sorry to hear that you have to have another surgery! That just stinks!! Maybe you could make up some cards ahead of time and backgrounds so that maybe with your left hand you could do some card making!!
Didn't we have a challenge way back when that asked us to use our non dominant hand to make a card?
Good luck with the surgery will be thinking of you!
That was Lee's challenge, to use the non-dominant hand, since her surgery was on her right hand. At the same time, my left hand was in a splint, so I had to make my card for her challenge with an oven mitt on my right hand and the splint on the other... Imagine!! I couldn't use my dominant hand for Lee, and my non-dominant hand was restricted, too. Great fun.
My surgery won't happen until well after vsn. It's time I cut back anyway, and I'll not be functioning well the first week after. This surgery will be a bit more invasive than the left shoulder.
Thankfully, I was given a cortizone (sp?) shot yesterday, and it's working well. I slept late, woke mostly pain free. It'll hold me until surgery.
