I was highly inspired by Nancy Littrell this week. She hosted a challenge yesterday including mixed media like stencils & textured paste. Personally, I LOVE playing around with textured paste because it reminds me of porcelain (especially when white). (Porcelain has always been a regal texture in my opinion.) Outside of that, I just simply adore adding any custom element of texture to my card designs. It gives the recipient a reason to want to 'touch' it, which I think is really cool. So in alignment with that, and Nancy's awesome challenge, I chose this really cool Plaster Art board on Pinterest as our inspiration site this week. It has hundreds of plaster based textures to inspire you! I hope you'll try to use some paste in your design (hint: stencils make it fun and easy to incorporate paste). In any event, whatever you're inspired to do, I'm sure it will be fabulous! As a bonus, please feel free to combine any card using a stencil & mixed media with the DTGD16nancylittrell challenge too!
Challenge Goals: Please don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the board reminds you of it - this is all about creating from an inspiration. So, please take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on the images you browse this week. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by the Plaster Art board on Pinterest . Remember that your card might also end up on my Ongoing Inspiration Genius Board too, especially if it shows signs of extra deep inspiration! (smiles)
Use the keyword: IC557 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, or just don't subscribe to Pinterest, I've uploaded 10 of my favorites. So just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.

And here is a variation. I made four attempts and didn't like any of them, but took two of them and mucked about with adding other products to them. This version is on watercolour paper and has some gesso added to the panel I was ready to throw out:
