Another great cause. I hope to be able to send some cards out this month, now that I'm semi-settled at least from moving. My mom (happyinhawaii) must have a crystal ball or something. She's been saying for the last week or so that she needs to make some kid's cards. I think she's got a head start on this month's cards. lol
I can't tell you how thrilled I was (fist pump!) when I saw this month's cause. Can any cards be more enjoyable to make than kids birthday cards? I think not... all that fun, cuteness, bright colors... and possible interactive elements. Sigh. This is already turning out to be my best month of 2016. So glad to be here.
What a fabulous cause! Not sure if I have too many "kid" stamps but will try to create and send something :-) Thanks again!
Julie, I know for a fact I've seen lots of cards you've made that would work for kids. Beautiful cards! You've used bears, cats, dogs, and flowers ... Love, love, love your cards.

Oh, you are so sweet! Thanks for the encouragement and I did not even think about cats and dogs for kids- duh!! Of course they go together- lol!! Thanks for the idea- hugs!

Love this charity!! I think I already have some kids cards in my stash but I will definitely get some more done this next week and get them sent off. I've got to tame this mountain of paper pads that jumped in my shopping cart!! :p

One thing I would say....this is aimed at ages up to 18. remember, everyone remembers the "kids"...but not so much the older children. And yes, they need bright and happy, not doom and gloom, but a lot of adult and "older" stamps would work.
Look at the stamps...some might work, if you blocked off a portion while stamping. Some might work, if you use a word from this stamp, and one from that (or even letters). You can perhaps even use lettering stamps from halloween or christmas for the lettering.
And sometimes, even a change of colors can make the stamp or elements used changed from "adult" to young. Heck, I am sure that even using some of the elements from halloween, brightened up with colors, can use (think things like...monster high school? can't think of the right name...or harry potter, or some of the vampire shows aimed towards teens and young adults).
And if you still feel you can't really make one towards a child..or even if you can, think of holiday birthdays...halloween and christmas. Try to challenge yourself to make a birthday card with those themes. I know some people try to "seperate" them, at christmas, so that the child isn't robbed...but i think with olders, they might like to see the challenge of their special day being honored even more.
And one more thing...if you don't have a stamp, make one! take foam craft sheets, and cut the shape out...or use your cricut (I forget the material you can use...perhaps if it's just for a couple of stampings, you could even use cardstock or cereal boxes, cut the shape, put it on a backing of some kind and stamp!). Wrap string or rubber bands around a block and stamp for some funky backgrounds. And think/rely on the picture, not the words...for example, brightly colored balloons...don't even need to write a thing! *laughs*
And even still lost? cut out the letters ...or 2 big H and B, then hand-write in the other letters. *giggles*
hope that helps for some inspiration! so says the person, who hasn't "started" making cards or anything yet (again)
Just finished boxing this month's cards... 42 total, that cover ages 1-18. Having some vacation helped a lot, plus they were so much fun to create. I loved every moment. Later on today, I will drop them off at the Post Office. Thank you so much for the opportunity to contribute, and I look forward to September.
Mailed my box last week. Just didn't get a chance to post that until now. Oops - almost forgot tracking number. 9405 8036 9930 0295 1615 92. USPS Flat Rate

Card making is on hold for me for a while....My stamping stuff is even about to be boxed up. Why you ask? Because of our exciting news: We shockingly got pre-approved for a home loan! So our search has begun. I thought we had found the perfect house - move in ready, in our price range and we are supposed to walk through it on Monday night with our realtor. Then yesterday afternoon it went "pending sale" - UGH! But we are on the hunt and know that we will be moving so I'm starting to box things up...and my craft room is the first room. I'm still here...just not crafting right now...but will again soon - I promise!
