How about a 'bowl' of fun this week! I always wanted to learn how to make my own bowls and mugs! I've seen people 'turn' them with clay, and have been to the place where you decorate them before they cook them in a kiln. The end-to-end process seems so amazingly artistic and must be loads of fun! P.S. I also love shopping at craft fairs for a brand new handmade bowl or mug! After all, an artistic handmade bowl turns my boring cereal into an exciting event! All that said, I'm fairly sure that this weeks inspiration challenge site has the most AMAZING bowls you've ever seen! Please join me at the Bowls Pinterest Board this week! I'm sure you'll find just the right 'bowl' to inspire some fresh creativity for your next IC card! They were probably made in a variety of imaginative ways; but please do check out the video below where you'll see a beautiful "Potter" in action. (In reality, I wish I were a fly on the wall to watch each and every one of them being crafted!) Enjoy!
This Potter's end-to-end process is demonstrated in the video below! Bonus challenge: If you have your own pottery that you'd like to show off (whether your made it or bought it), please include it in your photo upload with your card/project! I'd love to see them!
Challenge Goals: Please don't be tempted to upload a card that you have made prior to this challenge, just because an image on the board reminds you of it - this is all about creating from an inspiration. So, please take the challenge of allowing your creative juices to flow based on the images you browse this week. Remember, it can just be the color palette or style that ignites your creativity. Whatever draws you to the designs, take the challenge of doing something uniquely inspired today.
Please remember that all inspiration links should be inspired by the Bowls Pinterest Board. Remember that your card might also end up on my Ongoing Inspiration Genius Board too, especially if it shows signs of extra deep inspiration! (smiles)
Use the keyword: IC555 (no spaces or extra characters) when you upload your card, and make sure you put commas between your key words.
For those of you who say you get overwhelmed with having too many images to choose from, or just don't subscribe to Pinterest, I've uploaded 10 of my favorites. So just stick with one (or all) of those for your inspiration. Click on the images below to see them bigger and to get their links on SCS. Don't forget to let us know which photo served as your inspiration piece please.
WOW.......a real plethora of fantastic, hand-created ceramic bowls! I've pinned several for future inspiration. I can see where your cereal is a "party every morning". Thanks.
Omigosh Audrie! I'm so excited, the area I live in has a plethora of potters and crafters and every March they are part of a "seconds" sale which donates the proceeds to local art/music programs. I shop every year at this sale! I also have a neighbor who is a potter and opened her studio for classes several years ago and I had the opportunity to make my own bowls and such. I have 4 pieces left, as I gave many away as gifts. I will post a pic later.

totally LOVING this pinterest board! I hope I can find time to play, however, I am preparing my house for 15 guests for the next 5 days! I have already found about 10 bowls for my bowlful of inspiration!
What a beautiful and inspiring board, Audrie! I'm badly in need of some creative time this weekend and if this doesn't get me going I don't know what will.
Here's my card. I've also attached one of my favorite pieces of pottery.

Audrie- couldn't be happier with your Bowls inspiration site! I loved this bowl with its wonderful colors- I just got back from Yellowstone Park with its colorful paint pots- and I added my own rock for my card photo. Here's Smile

Had fun making this card, inspired by these amazing bowls- I used SU's Sew Suite for my smaller button card, and a Sizzix ef for my larger one, which was rubbed with brown ink and "shabby-fied" with a page curl and some wrinkling. Added a vintage sewing machine and some fabric. Here's Vintage Buttons

Oops! I forgot to photo them by my bowl. I have a bowl that was thrown by my brother (he doesn't like me to tell people that because it is an example of his early work. Maybe that's why I forgot!)
Thanks for looking!
