I hate to break it to you, but exactly 5 months from today it will be Christmas! Where does the time go? I think many of us tend to leave our Christmas cards until the last minute, so today's challenge is to get a jump on Christmas 2016, and make a Christmas card.
1. There is no deadline to play along with the CAS challenge. 2. Take all the time you need to finish and upload your card. 3. Upload your card to your gallery and link back to this thread so we all can see your project. 4. Please remember to use the correct keyword CAS387 when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos. 5. Please feel free to combine the CAS challenge with any other challenges.

While searching Christmas in July, I read the following excerpt from Greene Publishing:
There is plenty of speculation that the term "Christmas in July" came from the southern hemisphere, Christmas in July is as close as they can get to a "traditional Christmas". In countries like New Zealand, Australia, Papua New Guinea and others, the seasons are in reverse of those in the northern hemisphere. For countries in the southern portion of the globe, December, and Christmas, fall right into the middle of their summer. For citizens of those countries, Christmas in July provides the opportunity to celebrate yuletide along with the chilly nip in the air that the rest of the world experiences. And, sadly, others say it is purely a commercial holiday, at least for the northern hemisphere. Christmas in July came about for me way back when I was in the marine industry and our customers who docked at our marina would celebrate Christmas in July by decking out their boats. It certainly was a festive time with Christmas lights and even Christmas trees on the decks of the boats.

I had fun making this card. I don't think it is a typical Christmas card and perhaps I made a card with snowflakes due to wishful thinking! It is 106 degrees today after all!

I'm loving this week's challenge - I'm not making a lot of Christmas cards this year, but it's always nice to have a head start on the ones I AM making.
