Squeeeee... it's me again... KELLYJEAN! I am seriously so excited to host the Technique Lover's Challenge with Sabrina and Judy! So when it's my turn, I feel like a little kid getting a gift for her birthday or something ! Hopefully, today's offering will be more like a gift to talented and creative YOU ;)!!!
Today's new technique (although it's not "new..." just a bit of a twist to a classic) is the MEGA MOSAIC BACKGROUND technique!
If you've ever created a mosaic BG, you can share with me a bit of frustration as it can be somewhat time consuming using teeny tiny pieces. I personally like using teeny tiny pieces because it can really make a BG pop big time. BUT... the time... ain't nobody got that, right?! So I came up with the MEGA MOSAIC BG technique to make our cards still pop but save us a whole lot of stampin' time.
And here's how to create your own MEGA MOSAIC BG...
1. Begin with two (ONLY two) decorative BG papers and one (ONLY one) colored card stock.
2. Trim each piece to measure 3-3/4" x 5".
3. Layer each piece one on top of the other.
4. Make at least FOUR (but NO MORE THAN six) random trims through the layered stack of paper/card stock (see photo).
5. Keeping each trimmed section in the order in which it was trimmed (just like the photo), begin to create a mosaic onto a piece of card stock (of different color) measuring 4-1/4" x 5-1/2". BE SURE TO KEEP THE LAYERED PIECES LAYERED AND IN THE ORDER IN WHICH THEY WERE TRIMMED (otherwise you will have quite the time playing with a jigsaw puzzle. Ask me how I know HA!)
That's IT! Have fun! It sounds like many intimidating steps but TRUST ME... (if you don't know by now, you will quickly learn when you participate in MY hosting days... I DON'T DO COMPLICATED. I am a simple stamper sistahs -and gents) this is about as easy a technique as it gets!

I'm the first to reply to this? Shocking! Even more shocking? I don't "do" techniques, but I think I'm actually going to give this one a try! Love the whole concept, and love your sample!

I usually comment on cards from this thread. I just clicked on the gallery link and see that there are a lot more cards there than in this thread. Off to look at more cards!
I tried this technique tonight and it was so easy and turned out great. I am always looking for new ideas and this is one that can be used for many different types of cards, kids, masculine, birthday, just about anything. I will definitely be using this technique again.
