Challenge Title: Frame It!!
Hostess: Polly (aka peeps321)
Keyword: MIX173
See the MIX173 gallery HERE
This is my first time hosting the MIX-Ability challenge and I'm very excited! :p
It only took me 4 years after joining SCS to start my gallery. I did my first challenge six months later (it was a color challenge by the way) and since then I've never looked back!
A great work of art deserves a great frame to show it off. And since we all produce great works of art here on SCS my task for you is create a fabulous frame for your card, journal page, ATC, canvas, or project. It can be something formal, ornate, simple, or modern looking....you decide how to enhance your artwork. Here are some suggestions on what you might use for your frame:
Emboss with embossing powder, dry emboss, sew, use washi tape, make a frame using all embellishments, doodle or use zentangle, stencil....the sky's the limit. For my examples I stamped a design making a loose frame and for my other one, an ATC, I used embellishments.
Remember to use at least two or more different mediums on your project. See this post for some ideas. Also make sure to put MIX173 in the keyword section.
It's a great idea after posting your card to come back to this thread and post a link to it. Not sure how to do that? Here are instructions:
1. Open 2 windows: One window for your card and one for this thread.
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Got to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Youre done!
Have fun !! I can't wait to see what you decide to "frame" today!
Hurrah for your first challenge, Polly. I coloured an image last night and I've been waiting to see what your challenge was, hoping I could use it...off to frame my stitching mice now .

Pencils for my background, distress inks for colouring. I tried to add seam binding dyed with my Brusho mists, but it just didn't come together and I'd already covered the mixed media base with the pencils .

Love this fun concept- I framed my pelican in this card (hard to see the white gel pen and glitter but it is there along with the watercolor pencils and archival ink :-))
