Went to the Post Office this a.m. to restock my "From Me to You" postage stamps - IMO, the most perfect stamp ever for the card maker only to find that they have been discontinued. What a disappointment! I had been using them especially for the cards I have been sending as part of my personal "2016 Send a Smile" challenge.
Maybe this changing so many stamp styles is part of the reason the Post Office is not making enough money, and is cutting down on services. We used to have one-day mail service in Tulsa, where we had a nice big sorting facility. My postman tells me now they have to send all mail to Oklahoma City to be sorted, then driven up the highway again to Tulsa for delivery. That sounds really stupid to me.
It now takes our business 2 to 3 weeks to have mail returned if they consider it undeliverable. It has to go to OKC for their decision.
Just Keep the Stamps that sell well! Please!

 The post office has always introduced multiple different styles of stamps that are issued for a limited run until the next style comes out. Even the US flag and Love stamps are different each year.
They're not making enough money because Congress required them to pre-fund 75 years of pension payments instead of letting them use that to, you know, run the post office.
Yep, they told me to check online, too, but they weren't there either. I didn't expect to find them as, unlike some other retailers, I've never found online to have different styles than in the brick and mortar post office. And, yes, they've always changed designs. I am just disappointed that they have so many honoring celebrities and even so many that are patriotic themed. They had ONE that was so perfect for handcrafted cards - or even that others could use to promote getting back to old fashioned paper cards and letters. They were the perfect complement. Oh well, it is what it is.
I agree that Congress has done the PO no favors with the pension requirement - and I believe the PO was singled out on that requirement - at least in terms of quasi-governmental organizations.

Look what I found! I live in a teeny, tiny town-(maybe a pop. of 1,000) but we are only 7 miles from a university town of 90,000, so I can at least go to Michael's and HL easily!
Anyway.....I was at the P.O. buying a stamp and she happened to give me a pretty flowered one. I commented on it being a nice stamp.
I then started talking about the From Me to You stamps and saying they are sold out. She opens her drawer and voila!
She mentioned twice she might have some more in her fault......they are so valuable they are in a "vault" hahaha!
She said to stop back if I need more!
I told her I was a card maker and there was a whole conversation going on about these stamps on a card forum and you all would be impressed with my find!
It's the simple things in life that make us do a happy dance!

On the brightside.....they are or have already made some Michelle Obummer stamps................they just are not my thing. I have never seen the stamps you are talking about but they sound just perfect for us card makers.
I too like the From me to you postage stamps. I purchased a sheet in January and have been unable to find them since.
Too bad they're discontinued; it was a nice personal and sentimental touch.

I'm a postmaster and I would have stocked up for all of you. I finally bought the last sheets myself to get rid of them. My customers always want the newest and prettiest. The new garden flowers are so pretty and the quilled paper hearts are adorable!
